I don't understand the outrage. The plans for the demolition were published over nine months ago and available in the planning office all that time. /ignore the leopard |

Gulper Eel: Can't we just destroy Yoko Ono's childhood home instead? Never mind. Already taken care of. Maybe Heather's? |

Well, that's a start. How 'bout they demolish their *CURRENT* homes with all the former Beatles in them? /two down, two to go |
||
| moothemagiccow He's not a "former Beatle." They didn't kick him out. He's not Stuart Sutcliffe or Pete Best. It's farking Ringo. You need an epithet for Ringo? It's his farking stage name. FFS he's the only one whose name is known by people who don't even like the Beatles. |

In other news, Mark David Chapman has claimed the Lennon shooting was a hunting accident. He thought Lennon was a moose. Meanwhile, the ghost of Lennon has apologized for releasing Double Fantasy. And Bob Dylan has apologized for Empire Burlesque, agreeing that he has been a spent force since 1966. |

I watched the movie "Let It Be" and had my eyes open on a few things. For one, that CD/album was more Paul's album too. I use to think Abby Road was his and Let IT Be, being more straight live work, was Johns.... The other is that Yoko was not at all a destructive force. She just stays quiet and in the background the whole time. John is there, but not that into things. No fighting between Paul and John at all to speak of. It really was between George and Paul where things got a little awkward at points I hear Let IT Be the movies is finally going to be released officially. I suggest this who got use to blaming Yoko watch it....but also any Beatles fans. Not much of a movie but its fun/informative watching such an important band work |

If Ringo wants it saved, he could just f*cking buy it... It's not like he doesn't have enough money to do so. |

Yoko was just annoying everyone by sitting on the amps. The worst fight? John and George apparently got physical at one point. But yes... Lots of tension between Paul and George. Had they did what, say, the Who would do years later, you go make a solo record and you and you and we'll get together for another Beatles album in a few years, the Beatles may have never broken up. It's was Apple and business that destroyed them. After all, though Let it Be came out after, Abbey Road was the last one they recorded. |

Dear Fan Who Saved my Old house from demolition. Thanks for the fab petition for saving the former home of Yours Truly. I hung it on me wall. You're quite a campaigner. In answer to your question, yes, we do have hamburgers and fries in England. But we call French fries `chips'. Love, Ringo. PS: Forgive the lateness of my reply. |

Waxing_Chewbacca: The worst fight? John and George apparently got physical at one point. A big reason Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey have been able to maintain a working relationship all these years is because they would throw punches at each other when things got really bad. That would break the tension and they would be able to go on. |

It's similar in subject matter but it's more lively, better edited and even funny sometimes. |

Wouldn't it make more sense to say they're tearing down Pete Best's childhood home instead? |

Paul was the driving force behind the group now that Epstein was dead and no one really liked Paul anyway. Check out Lennon's "solo" work which features Harrison often and Ringo occasionally. |

I hate preservationists. Wait long enough and no one will be able to tear anything down, just because it's old. |
||
| brantgoose Good. I always liked Ringo Starr better than John Lennon. He was a funny self-deprecating guy but the other Beetles were mean to him. I also liked George. He was the quiet one. I expect that Ringo and George had more brains between them than the other Beetles combined. And I am counting you, the fans, as the Sixth Beetle rather than their manager. |

It's Beatles, not beetles, but we're all idiots so what do we know. |
