STAR bonds are a favorite whipping boy of Johnson County Republicans because poor Wyandotte county got Star bonds to build a museum, then located it inside of a Cabela's, in exchange for Cabela's taking care of upkeep. Normally, the Republicans in rich Johnson have no problem giving tax dollars to private businesses, but this development was a huge success for Wyandotte county, and now WyCo draws lots of shoppers from JoCo.
