I was invited to a wedding once, but did not attend due to work, and my friend reported the bride (who was also her new step-mom) had put foxglove flowers, as well as actual edible flowers, on one of the cakes as a decoration. That cake was quietly sidelined and trashed before anyone ate it.

//As cake wrecks go, the linked cake is pretty bad.

I'm pretty sure this is a groom's cake, and the "wedding" cake is pretty and large enough to feed all the guests.

Just because you look down upon the South doesn't mean there's anything wrong with the cake they decided to...

Oh WTF that's just disgusting.

I'm going to assume these folks are Georgia Tech fans

Then it's kind of sad because Tech's football program is clearly inferior.

This looks like a gag gift from a GT alum (obviously article writer since it says "To Hell with Georgia" on it) to an UGA alum. Sure, the cake is a bit graphic, but GT students/alums are not known for their social skills.

But wonders, this being Jersey and all, why don't more customers ask him for mob hit themed wedding cakes?

Hey, it's all cyclical. You could come back to prominence... or lose embarrassingly to Georgia State.

You might want to note that foxgloves are poisonous, since it's possible most people don't know that.

Nothing says you care nothing for the rival football program than featuring it prominently at your wedding. That'll show 'em!

Saw a bride and groom at the Stratosphere diner in Vegas--her wedding dress covered in buckeyes and little red O's. Bouquet was in half of a football. Groom wore an OSU tie. Wish I could find the pictures.

The cake is a lie. No way those drunken nerds at GT could get their jalopy to run fast enough or long enough to tun over a dog

hmmm, that's most likely an ACC! ACC! ACC! fan's cake, but other than that you're spot on in your analysis and mocking.

Thats pretty hilarious but also pathetic.

The cake looks pretty good and would be great at a football party or somewhere like that. However like others have said to display your hated rivalry at your wedding and to hate your rival more than your love your own school is kinda pathetic.

It looks gross. But it was done well and is somewhat realistic looking. And that's how we know Cake Boss had nothing to do with this.

I figured someone at Florida did this before actually reading the article (even though GT is mentioned right in the URL... shut up!).

one couple who decided to give their wedding a Red River Rivalry theme considering one was an Oklahoma fan and a Texas fan.

how can you have a rivalry theme when either the bride or groom liked both teams?

have the wedding divided into orange and red sides just like the cotton bowl is for the red river rivalry?

also, did anyone else notice this in the comments, MdUGAfan: "If I was a UGA fan, I would try and find which baker/bake shop made the cake and then put a boycott around it if this is really in Athens as the person who made it obviously does not know who most his/her clients are." that's right, a call for a boycott if a bakery dares to depict a dead uga.

When my Girlfriend and I get married that cake would be perfect. My family is SC fans and her family are GT and SC people with a smattering of Bama fans.

Yeah, I am thinking that cake was not made in Athens, no baker would make that.for fear of fire bombings. I'm a die hard UGA fan but these people take it up a notch, one of our buddies got asked to leave a bar once because he was making fun of UGA fans. He was pissed but the bar owner and bouncers were saying they were protecting him from getting killed.

We laugh at him to this day since no bar near GT would come close to this reaction for bad mouthing their team.

While funny and sick at the same time, my guess is neither the bride or groom has any connection to UGA or GT outside of looking in through the fence.

Like here you hear of an OU "fan" and Texas "fan" getting into a brawl and it turns out neither one would even come close to be able to attend the schools.
