I'm surprised the Cincinnati police did not hit the accused with multiple Taser shots so he could show the audience what he was talking about.

Well that's the black man's problem for saying something about a crippled crab and a crutch.

I was crippled for about 8 years with a degenerative bone disease in one of my legs (since corrected with bone grafting surgery) and I never had a problem saying I was crippled. I was. I couldn't freaking walk. Though, I did love saying Gimpy... that always got some raised eyebrows.

/what did piss me off was when I was able to finally meander about with a cane were the jackasses asking if I was going to use the cane to beat someone.
//"No, I'm going to use it to walk... but keep talking and we'll see..."

Google, how the fark does it work?

Here's a copy of the actual citation. He was charged with "Disorderly Conduct" for "walking up to people and shouting obscenities at them." His behavior persisted after he was asked to stop.

Are we just linking to any half-arse, completely out of context article now?

/non-story, move along

When someone says that I am "physically challenged" it bothers me. I always think I may have to arm wrestle someone
I do like "gotard". Maybe "rolltard"? It trips off the tongue.

I was in a car accident 6 years ago. My physical therapist kept insisting I call my left leg my "affected leg" instead of my "bad leg". She was pregnant at the time. I asked if I should refer to her as being with an "affected uterus" or can I just call her pregnant? She finally STFU.

Municipal employees should be required to live in the municipality they are employed by. Maybe not in the same neighborhood they work in, but they should have a stake in the community. Especially the police, who might then act less like an occupying army.

As for the article, I call myself an ugly honky fatso but the only thing I want people to get in my face to say is "Here's some free money!"

I have the freedom of speech, protected by the constitution to say the word "crippled" as well as George Carlin's "Seven Dirty Words" followed up by rant explaining why both Creationists and Athiests and both take a flying leap.

Please, let's not look at the movie 'Demolition Man' as a guide book for the future. I'll be broke paying fines and I'll never figure out the three shells.

Even from what little information can be gleaned from the article, it sounds more like he was arrested for obnoxiously bothering people at the park.

No, this was pretty straight forward. I'm actually friends with the comedian that he was promoting. Somebody got butthurt, called the police, and like 6 minutes (because it's not a real crime) later, he was arrested.

In Cincinnati? Nah. That's not really mean, just outdated, as the name NAACP shows; when my grandfather referred to someone as "colored" he was using the polite term current when he was growing up. But can you imagine a civil rights organization calling itself something like "the National Association for the Advancement of Jigaboos?" That's what I go by in judging whether something's meant to be offensive.

I have no idea what the Cincinnati police call a person of African descent. I can say that I understand that up there the relations between the races are troubled. E.g., a couple years ago, while walking from the Greyhound station to the Amtrak one, I noticed that a white man walking through a black neighborhood on a Sunday afternoon was considered very unusual, despite it being the most direct route and only about a mile. But it wasn't till I'd already walked into a local carryout and asked for a fish sandwich that I understood that such things just don't happen there: they were polite and the food was delicious, but they seemed so shocked I might as well have had two heads. And sitting on a bench outside the place to eat while it was still hot made me a curiosity: people would slow down to look or even drive around the block again to watch an ordinary-looking white guy use his best "church picnic" manners.

That told me I would not like to live in Cincinnati. Most cities in this part of the country have "a race problem," but that was something I hadn't experienced since the mid-70s in Baltimore. And based on that and on what I've read in the papers over the years I doubt the Cincinnati police will ever be paragons of inter-ethnic sensitivity.
