In 2006, after Obama was elected U.S. senator, Vanity Fair republished the article and added an editor's note.

The note offers no explanation of why the original article stated Obama was raised in Singapore.

It declares, next to the Singapore reference, "We should have said Indonesia."

So...am I supposed to be outraged that Vanity Fair didn't fact check the first time around? I mean, yeah, it's a publication of some note, but still, it's just a magazine.

Ok, I'll say it. No one else seems to like this point, but:

The location of someone's birth is not correlated with their patriotism or their ability to govern effectively. It's as meaningless as categorizing people by zodiac sign.

The "natural born citizen" clause of the U.S. Constitution is an anachronism. It should be deleted by Constitutional amendment.

If only Republicans would put as much effort into, you know, actually making the country a better place, as they do into ad hominem attacks on our near president, the country would, you know, be a much better place.

Or not, since the Republican idea of paradise looks a lot like the first chapter of Oliver Twist.

Alice laughed. 'There's no use trying,' she said 'one can't believe impossible things.'

'I daresay you haven't had much practice,' said the Queen. 'When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast. There goes the shawl again!'

Hi! I can lick my own eyebrows
What the heck is this all ABOOT?

From the comments:

Obama (if that is his name) was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. His mom was enrolled in the University and lived in Seattle at the time (alleged) of his birth. She was seen by a friend from Mercer Island with a few weeks old baby. This friend has spoken about the reunion to reporters.
There is proof of her enrollment in the University and there is proof of her renting an apartment in Seattle. BUT no one will go to Vancouver and investigate the obvious. Why is that ? Everyone cannot be in on this scam can they? Proving it is easy and disapproving the birth site is also easy to do . Why doesn't someone prove that he was NOT born in Vancouver?

Serious question:

Is there anyone out there - ANYONE who doesn't rely on WND as a source of legitimate news - who would be upset if someone walked up to Jerome Corsi and proceeded to beat the ever-loving shiat out of him? For no apparent reason whatsoever? Because this asshole is on the express elevator to opening his mouth one too many times to the wrong person, and getting his face rearranged as a result.

If Obama wrote to his father and lived in Singapore then he had more experience with international relations before his tenth birthday than Romney before his 40th.

They don't want anything about this country to get better while Obama is president. They are more than willing to see the majority suffer if it helps them get the White House back.

many of them imprisoned and some of them [prosecuted] for their traitorous acts against

No no no. Agumuike al-Buroof wasn't born in Vancouver or Seattle, and the woman who raised him and was enrolled at the University was NOT his real mother. His real mother didn't even go to college; she was a prostitute in Tanzania, who fled to Kenya to give birth. Agumuike al-Buroof was then adopted by a negro in Vancouver, and his name was changed to Barry.

Why people think he was born in Hawaii, where that "birth certificate" came from, and who the original "Barack Obama" ever was are mysteries that will probably never be solved.

The Soviet KGB actually came pretty close to slipping some sleepers into high level government jobs here and in the UK. Fake documents and all that. Of course nothing as high as President. So while I favor deleting natural born citizen, I want to keep the part where at least one parent needs to be American. Natural born is definitely an anachronism now that travel is so easy and commerce is globalized.

I dunno. Back in the pre-Interweb days, I always wondered what was going on in the minds of all the LaRoucheites, sovereign citizens and barely-closeted Nazis, but I was hesitant to ask for fear of being bitten and contracting Kreutzfeldt-Jacov rabies or whatever the hell is going on with their headmeat.

The internet is the thick, shatter-proof glass that allows us to gawk at the zoo animals.

Notice that Corsi never states he believes Obama was raised in Singapore.

He's just trying to raise more "questions". And implying that there's some sort of nebulous conspiracy going on. Because he knows there are a lot of stupid people out there who will buy into it and repeat it.

You guys are both incredibly naive. Everyone knows Obama is actually a defective Nixonite soul receptacle that fell from the Burning Lands and rent a hole through history that the malignant windclaws of Amero-fascism crept through. I mean, the portents could not be any more obvious. Have you ignored his sleep number?
