| WhoIsWillo As Governor, didn't he pretty much appoint the entire Board of Trustees? |
| Grand_Moff_Joseph Daniels is so charismatic, the Boilermakers will be reduced to a low simmer. |
| bdub77 How about NO. NO NO NO. Jesus Purdue, WTF do I need to come over there and smack you in the face? And fire that farking hack of an athletic director already. |

This would be far more entertaining would this have been about Mitch Hedberg.. "I wouldn't run for President, unless he dropped his wallet and I...happened to have picked it up. But then I'd remember that running up to the President would cause alarm, so maybe.. I'd meander.... alright" |
| WhoIsWillo So, I looked it up. 8 of the 10 members of the Purdue BOT were appointed by Mitch Daniels. |
| Diogenes Keep farking that chicken. |
| Ba'boon Well, I really like the pick. I think it'll be good for the school and good for Daniels. |
| Three Crooked Squirrels Higher education is so elitist. What a snob. |
| propasaurus But, I've been assured there are no conservatives in academia. Is Mitch a sekret librul? |
| Snarcoleptic_Hoosier Oh, so he's going to sell the campus for a boost in cash, lower tuition, and claim a balanced budget. /I'll pay fifty bucks for a brick from Mackey Arena |

Snarcoleptic_Hoosier: /I'll pay fifty bucks for a brick from Mackey Arena gimme 20 minutes, i've got a crowbar. |

I wanted to be president for a while. But you know, I'm sick of following my dreams, man. I'm just going to ask where they're going and hook up with 'em later |
| Wangiss
I was going to run on a real good platform too, supporting the working class. Like all those sweatshops in the Southwestern states: Air Conditioning. Problem solved. |
| Yamaneko2
Time to leave the state before it really becomes Mississippi. |
| The Martintuckian
How long will it take him to sell it off to some foreign country like he did the toll road. |

How did Purdue's AD survive the thorough humiliation that Matt Painter gave him during that whole Missouri fiasco a while back? AD: "This is our offer and we're sticking to it." Painter: "You're a hack and a pussy and you're running a Mickey Mouse program. Give me lots of money and GTFO of my way." AD: "Yes sir." |

As a grad student at Purdue I would like to protest this decision. Any good ideas/signs for me to make? |

satanorsanta: As a grad student at Purdue I would like to protest this decision. Any good ideas/signs for me to make? One point I saw floating around is that there's a mandatory cut-off/retirement at age 65 for top officials at Purdue. And this d-bag is 63. So...wtf? Is he gonna just jump in, sell-off everything to Monsanto, and leave? You guys need to break out the pitch forks and torches. |

It's probably not too difficult to change that rule if you're in control of the Board of Trustees. |

I guess part of me should be happy that he is only going to dick over a single institution, and not the entire country... |

| Lupine Chemist I graduated two years ago but I actually think the slash and burn method might be a little helpful right now, if only for a short while. Jischke just used his weird construction ray that came forth through his moustache to build endlessly without allowing student infrastructure to keep up. Córdova just did...I don't even know. I understand the need for nice facilities and all that, but it is just horribly managed sometimes. My building had half newly done and the other half falling down for pretty much the entirety of my time there. (I've heard they actually did the remodel on the old part by now) Purdue could do well with some focused cuts to services that is is vastly wasteful on. Oh and more of those luxury dorms to get the rich rubes out of money to subsidize the rest. |

I've got it: 1. Cut higher education funding. 2. Appoint board of trustees. 3. Get "selected" as president of state university so you can beg for more funding for higher education. 4. Profit. |
