The ending seemed pointless...the boat crashed into the box and...then what? The flaming tetherball made my giggle though.

Setting a Rube Goldberg device on fire would be an Honest Mistake.

I liked the flaming tetherball. Too much reliance on the tires. Edit at the burning hay... 6/10

Now, if the cameraman accidentally set himself on fire and we got to see this on America's Funniest Home Videos...

FTFA: Some might argue that this isn't a real Rube Goldberg machine because there are noticeable edits, suggesting the run wasn't completed in one take. However, there's an awesome explanation. This video is a small excerpt from a 30-minute DVD in which "100 feet of physical interactions, chemical reactions, and precisely crafted chaos" self-destructs. The edits are simply in the interests of time, as some of the chemical reactions were very slow (but super effective).

The cuts I saw were both at a point where burning fuel lights a fuse, so apparently that counts as a slow chemical reaction now? Sure thing, guy.

I have two of their CDs and completely forgot about that video. Much cooler than the linked one. Theres a flaming tetherball though, definitely a nod to the original.

I noticed 3 cuts. All zoomed into the flame to mask the cut. All lighting fuses.

Hey, subby, "if" takes a subjunctive. "If I were," not "If I was."

No. Some of those cuts were not on slow reactions. Also, pretty sure i noticed a couple "auto lights", and as pointed out earlier, it ended for no reason.

Art? Sure it's pretty, but I think these are genuine complaints as there are those who truly bust their arses to create completely self-automated chain reaction Rube Goldberg machines and completely self-automated this isn't.

At around :52 (turn up your volume) you can actually hear someone shaking flammable powder onto the floor so the flame meets the fuse. Powder that wasn't there before the deceptive 'ooo, pretty flames' zoom-in.

And the cut at :32 only to be explained as a "for the sake of time" edit in the description as Amplexus points out? What's that, a quarter-second of time to take one step over? "We should really cut this specific 1/4 second out of this 30 minute film for, you know, the sake of time." That's an insulting lie to true Rube Goldberg-ians.

Yes, it's pretty, but it's claiming to be something that simply isn't. They just didn't pull it off.

A Sal Goldberg machine if you will. Rube's whorish, lying step-sister.

/wow, I really cared about that for a minute

the full video of this is nearly 35 minutes long and with NO climax at all.

we have a public access channel that shows weird videos and they showed this one...it was soooooo long.

was so pissed after the end when there wasn't a climax of any kind, it just fizzles out...so lame..
