This should be a Lifetime or Hallmark Channel flick to ensure that no one ever makes the mistake of watching it....

Christ, hit me again. And by that I mean bash my brains in, not "turn this into a franchise."

Should I watch Raging bull? (Sincere question). Most movies in general kinda bore me, I'm more of a books or video games person, tried to watch Taxi a while back and it was just freaky seeing him so young, couldn't get more than a few minutes in. Probably didn't help it starts slower than piss.

Normally I like character dramas (I liked Driver, for example) so I dunno.

Instead, relative unknown Martin Guigui is directing the movie off a script he cowrote with Rustam Branaman. William Forsythe will star as an older Jake LaMotta, while newcomer Mojean Aria will play him as a younger man. De Niro famously portrayed LaMotta in the first "Raging Bull." The project also stars Joe Mantegna, Tom Sizemore, Penelope Ann Miller, Natasha Henstridge, Alicia Witt, Ray Wise, Harry Hamlin, Bill Bellamy and James Russo as Rocky Graziano.

I will see this movie if and only if Alicia Witt plays Jake LaMotta's daughter, who is so distraught over the physical effects of boxing destroying her father, she runs away from home and is swallowed by the New York City night life, where she goes from man to man, bed to bed, each sex act more degrading than the last, until she is taken in by an upscale madam with a heart of gold (Penelope Ann Miller), and the last 30 45 minutes of the movie is the daughter "servicing" the NYC mayor's wife (Natasha Henstridge) while the madam directs the action and eventually joins in.

Oh, and all the male names mentioned in that paragraph above appear on the poster but no where in the movie.

This movie I would go see.

/and pay extra for 3D

It's really not worth watching. It's one of the dullest films ever made. It's like a Michael Bay film shot in black and white for pretentious artistic effect. Also, its acting is akin to the great works of Shia LeBoeouf in the Transformer series.

Avoid.

I call bullshiat. I've seen Raging Bull, and nothing blows up, nor are there any slow motion scenes of a woman's cleavage as she runs away from explosions.

So much this. That Scorsese guy makes the most visually dull movies imaginable, That scene where Jackie Lamotto goes to the ring and the camera just follows him around. SO BORING. Did they not have someone available to cut all the unnecessary stuff out. Plus, a lot of the script blatantly ripped off the equally boring (and also visually dull) On the Waterfront. PROTIP: putting lines delivered by a bad actor in a bad movie in your bad movie to be delivered by a bad actor makes for bad moviemaking. A lot of people think it should Raging Bull should have won Best Picture that year, but clearly it wasn't nearly as good as ...

God, my head hurts from trying to type this much stupid at one time. And it's still better than anything you'd find in a script for Raging Bull 2.

Well, unless it followed mcmnky's plot. I'd watch the shiat out of that one.

From the publisher: "When Robert De Niro won an Academy Award playing Jake in a film made from the book, La Motta's life brightened as he shared the limelight with De Niro. Since then he has gone through fortunes, been wealthy and flat broke, and married again in addition to his first five marriages, which ended in divorces before, the film was produced."

Yeah. This is going to be complete crap.

From the IMDB page:

A combination prequel and sequel that explores "before the rage" and "after the rage" of world middleweight boxing champ Jake LaMotta's tumultuous life and times.

Even if you don't think the original is a classic (I've never seen it), that sentence is so full of fail I don't even.

Of all the classic movies that really need a gritty reboot, this has got to be in the top three.
After "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer" but maybe before "Eraserhead".

Fark it, I say throw in speaking parts for Shia Leboof and the Kardashians, plus a very special guest appearance by whoever most recently won "Celebrity Apprentice". And mix in some talking CGI pandas, to synergize with the release of Kung Fu Panda 5 (or whatever number they are on now). And all of them are repeatedly shown drinking and enjoying Gatorade. And putting Duracell batteries into their Apple products.
