The real potential for economic impact, however, lies in the vast reservoirs of shale gas that are newly accessible through hydraulic fracturing.

In other news, this article was pretty much bought and paid for by natural gas interests.

Thanks, but I'd rather invest in solar.

/if I could only find a mutual fund or ETF focused on solar

No, because people don't want to move to rural Colorado and Montana to work.

/not saying that as a bad thing, I'd love to live there, but the people out of work won't take the same risks people did during the Great Depression to find work

An economy can only temporarily be propped up by natural resource extraction. You cannot found a sustainable economy on it. It's like taking out loans to pay for systematic costs, the whole thing eventually falls apart.

Again: 9/10 of today's environmental and social problems would simply vanish if 9/10 of the world's people just up & died.

I would move to some remote part of the country but I've heard its all dudes and the couple of girls out there are nasty as all he'll. I would probly turn Gay or something to cope because there is no highspeed internet for porn.

Which is why Brazil and Australia, (and Canada to some extent) have some tougher times ahead.

Thanks. I'm aware of it. I'm still doing research, but I've only found TAN and KWT. I was hoping for a little more choice. I'm in half a mind to throw a dart at the wall and pick any company not named First Solar.

One of these days, some clown is going to figure out a way to create electricity by the movement of salt water over sand while exposed to ambient UV rays.

Then he/she will quietly disappear, along with their research data.
