Tommy is so easy, when I tried to make my bed yesterday Tommy was on it so I decided to play with him a bit. He just stays where I put him! I thought he was so goofy that I went to get the camera and he was still there waiting for me. Silly boy!

While at PetSmart yesterday, we saw a girl kitteh that looked almost exactly like our Lars! She was a bit smaller, had a slightly different shape to her head & was missing the triangle on her nose... but other than that.... the stripes were exactly the same! She was pretty. Didn't think about taking a pic until after we'd left the store. I might not be around much... the guy is home for the first time in a while and I'm enjoying every minute!

Finally! Kept trying to bring up the FARK website but all I got was 'Program not responding'. Grrrrr....this was the only site giving me trouble.
Ran the crap cleaner and that seems to have done the trick....we can haz Caturday!

Managed to corral D'Artagnan at last and get him into see the Sainted Vet yesterday...
on absolutely NO notice I might add...
"Hello Sainted Vet? I've finally GOT D'Artagnan...s'OK if I bring him in?"

Poor D'Artagnan had been in at least one fight...quite a few small scabs can be felt under his surprisingly soft glossy fur. He definitely got clocked a substantial blow in front of his left ear.
It's swollen, reddish and scratched...looks painful, poor boy.

Sainted Vet asked how was he at taking pills, since he was going to need some antibiotics.
D'Artagnan is really quite cooperative if I need to do stuff to him like this, so it wasn't so much getting the pills down his furry little throat twice a day as it was a case of said throat not being THERE on a dependable basis.

So we go to Plan B.) D'Artagnan received a rather pricey injection ($40) which 'lasts' for about 2 weeks.
I don't grudge the expenditure...just feel fortunate I had the $$$.

Asked the Sainted Vet if he would check D'Artagnan's anal glands...this was the problem when my normally laid-back, sweet-tempered Wimsicle-boy got mean, cranky and started picking fights with the other cats. Admit I was grabbing at straws here...trying to figure out WHY my merry, sociable D'Artagnan had become such a grumpy, unhappy cat.

Thing was, every time Wimsey mixed it up with another cat there was this SMELL...bitter, acrid...and strong enough for me to catch a whiff of it from my next-to-next-door neighbor's yard. D'Artagnan was exhibiting no such stink...but damn if his glands weren't clogged up just the same! Well, that's quickly (albeit messily and uncomfortably) resolved...

I was so proud of the boy...even during this most uncomfortable procedure the worst he did was growl a bit...no struggling or trying to bite/claw/savage the Sainted Vet.

D'Artagnan has been gracing us with his company since last night...sacked out in 'his' rocker-recliner chair. He has also been exibiting 'attention/affection-seeking behavior' (read "Pet me scritch me cuddle me NAOW")... which he hasn't done for a while...and is kind of problematic at the moment. During those fights he was in, he took a few smacks to the top of his big, beautiful regal head and it's SORE.
Poor baby, he so wants petted...but it hurts.
Fortunately, his chin, jaw, and lean furry tummy are unscathed, so he can receive chin-scritches and tummy-rubs without discomfort.
He responds with his big creaky purr (which I have missed very much) and kisses from his raspberry-sandpaper tongue.

I want to thank you guys for the ears (or would it be eyes here?) to bend and the support and the suggestions...it is appreciated very much!

syzygy whizz so glad teh kitteh is feeling better. Poor guy must have been miserable with his glands impacted. Try some fiber in his diet. It helped my Mom's cat...OMG that cat could stink up a room! :) Loved him anyway!
