So much to keep track of.. I think I'll skip Bellator live and watch UFC then watch a copy of Bellator after the fact.. No way I'm keeping track of two at the same time.

I figure since most the thread will probably be watching UFC first I will only post my UFC picks for now and hold back the bellator picks until later on.

Thanks Drew, or whoever in watching over the queue today.

Makes sense not to post Bellator picks until later to avoid spoilers. It sucks that MTV2 isn't showing Bellator 71. Instead of just DVRing it, I'll have to find an online source after the fact.

I honestly didn't pay attention enough to that fight to even guess who will win the decision.

Enjoy the trip. I was out of town for the last few events, including the Ellenberger fight.

Having a free FX show that has a better card the night before makes UFC 147, on PPV, look even crappier. 147 has to be the weakest PPV in years.

I was thinking the same thing, I like this card a lot better than 147.

Pretty much. Not a good card on paper at all. But then it's more for the Brazilian market than the US. I'm surprised they kept it as a PPV for the US instead of just making it a free show.

My breakdown of the main event:

Maynard: Great hands, lots of power, but only 2 KO/TKO victories, the most recent way back in 2007. Great wrestler, but no finishes via submission. Has experience fighting 5-rounders, but cardio can be an issue.

Guida: Good cardio, busy pace, mixes striking and wrestling well. Likes to scrap, but will probably resort to humping. Not a big finisher and is susceptible to subs, particularly rear-nekkids, but also arm-bars.

This fight is very likely to go five rounds, with Maynard winning early rounds and Guida later rounds. The winner will be determined by which round is the turning point (and judging, obviously).

Prediction: Maynard via split decision: 48-47, 49-46, 47-48

Ya...the main event should be fun, but I'm not paying for it and I've been buying almost every PPV since my daughter was born and I've been pseudo-tethered to the house. I'm also pissed the Faber-Barao fight was moved off the Silva-Sonnen card. It's really unlikely that I'll buy two PPV's in the same month again anytime soon.

The ppv when first announced was badass, considering it originally had Silva-Sonnen II on it as well, then it got gutted and turned into this. It should still be fun, but I agree with everyone else, it isn't worth ppv money.

I picked the wrong week to start working Fridays again(recovering from a concussion). And since I'll likely miss the fight I'm picking Ebersole to win and this was going to be my post.

*ahem*

I was once an MMA fighter like you, but then I took a Hairrow to the knee.

He had no arrow (or Golden Palace ad) shaved in for the weighin yesterday. Wonder what he'll show up with for the fight.

For a sec, I was thinking Mayhem and I looked up at the Tapology cards to see who won, and was like "Whoah...Mayem won a fight." Then I put two and two together with the son and everything made sense in my world again.

i'll be eating my greasy bar food in 2 hrs...beer battered cheese curds, pickels, broccoli. The bar we are going to only makes hamburgers in 1 lb freshly made patties from local cows processed in town. Honestly will be best burger i eat all year. Then nothing but salads the rest of the weekend.

/the bacon is fresh too and made local too...THICK slab bacon...

Gonna' skip Bellator tonight. I don't think my neighbors unpassworded wireless can handle me streaming both at the same time.

Win or lose Guida will bring it. He does it every fight.

I picked Maynard, but I actually hope Guida wins. A fair chance Guida will out-cardio Maynard, particularly in a five round fight.
