I've read about this. Apparently the aversion to family memebers isn't genetic, it develops through growing up with them. This is why adopted siblings who are around each other from very early in life are not attracted to each other and why people who discover genetic relatives late in life sometimes are. I feel I should also point out the obvious "understanding is not the same as condoning" that is for some reason difficult for many to grasp.
