Do you like Dunkin' Donuts and Subway? You're probably Republican, a new study shows. Meanwhile, Democrats prefer superior franchises like Starbucks and Wendy's

I wouldn't say like, so much as if those are options, they'll be on the bottom of the list

That seems odd. Dunkin Donuts are for the most party in very blue states and cities.

People joke that Starbucks are on every street corner, but if you go to the northeast, Especially southern New England, that's what Dunkin Donuts are like.

Their old fries sucked balls. The new ones are a major improvement.

BS, their old fries tasted like cardboard and the worst fast food fries out there. Now they are edible and much better then McD's fries.

Because "much better than McD's" doesn't actually imply "edible."

One of the Libbest Libs who ever libbed, and I think that Starbucks is naught but swill, Subway kicks ass. Most Wendy's can't make a decent burger, and, while their coffee sucks, Dunkin' has some damn fine donuts, so you can take that study and shove it up your ass...sideways.

I drink my coffee at work, and at home. Wendy's, I go there a couple nights a week, though I've been eating more chicken and less beef lately. Subway doesn't have a drive through, and I don't think they're open at 10:45 pm, when I head to work.

I don't think I ever had a squishy or underdone old fry, but then again I rarely go or went to Wendy's. I guess it's just the notion of change.

BK's new fries are...odd.

Dunkin' Donuts lays waste to all it surveys. Starbucks is good, but overpriced and far too twee and hipster.

Subway is utter garbage. One slice of meat on a wad of mushy bun. I'd rather roll the dice on a local sandwich shop I've never tried than give up and go to Subway.

The Republican Party uses a similar fear-based tactic, telling voters that four more years of President Obama would be a disaster for the country. Republicans may be attracted to Allstate because both the party and the product build off of a similar emotion, said Buyology CEO Gary Singer.

It is a similar story for fast food restaurants. Subway, where you choose every aspect of your sandwich, was the chain of choice for Republicans, a party whose platform revolves around individual freedom.

Democrats, on the other hand, favored Wendy's, which Singer said can be seen as more democratic because they offer pre-fixed solutions to your hunger. It's as if Wendy's is saying, "We've got these answers and you pick which is best for you," Singer said.

Well, at least their simplistic, insulting bullshiat explanations are nonpartisan.

Obviously Democratic: they're trying to impose the Buffet Rule, whereby all Americans with income over $1 million are ineligible to receive free trips to the salad bar.

Interesting juxtaposition that we have the "cigarette tax" thread right below this one. It's all the same as far as I'm concerned - people poisoning themselves for decades and then the rest of us stuck footing the bill when they get old and require millions of dollars in medical care that they really don't deserve.

Big Red distribution is largely limited to the South, so by definition would have to be favored mainly by conservatives.

There are no Dunkin' Donuts restaurants in Washington State, Oregon, or California, so obviously those liberals, in major strongholds and concentrations, won't rate DD highly.

Most people here have pointed out that New England states are full of Dunkin' Donutses, and they're overwhelmingly liberal. However, there are still tons of Republicans in New England--they're just not the racist, homophobic, misogynistic, xenophobic hyper-"Christian" monsters that you tend to find in the rest of the country. And they love their Dunkin' Donuts, too.

Yeah, but Republicans do nothing but biatch about how horrible and elitist and librul Starbucks is, and make a point of going to Dunkin Donuts instead. I think that in itself causes a skew.

/no Dunkin in my area
//not a fan of Starbucks -- their roasts are way too dark, they taste burnt
