Man On A Mission Go fast, turn left, go fast, turn left, Go fast, turn left, go fast, turn left... (yawn) Real racing turns in both directions and require strategy and real driving, like today's race in NASCAR. / bizarro world is right

Some Bass Playing Guy Oh look, another NASCAR hating asshole. REAL race fans can appreciate all kinds of motorsports.

Man On A Mission Some Bass Playing Guy: Oh look, another NASCAR hating asshole. Oh look, someone who has no concept of sarcasm.

downstairs Some Bass Playing Guy: Oh look, another NASCAR hating asshole. REAL race fans can appreciate all kinds of motorsports. Or at least don't have the need to bash other forms of racing they most likely don't understand. I'm a NASCAR fan. I enjoyed the Indy 500, but generally don't quite get/enjoy IndyCar. Or F1. Or rally. Whatever... if you enjoy it, good on ya. Seriously. F1 bores me... but how could I possibly be offended by its mere existence? I just don't watch it.

Some Bass Playing Guy Man On A Mission: Some Bass Playing Guy: Oh look, another NASCAR hating asshole. Oh look, someone who has no concept of sarcasm. Yeah, it's alwaty "sarcasm" when someone makes an asshole comment. Well done.

Man On A Mission Some Bass Playing Guy: Yeah, it's alwaty "sarcasm" when someone makes an asshole comment. Well done. Far be it from me to help the deliberately helpless, but a remedial course in reading comprehension should be on your agenda. Step 1: Read headline, paying special attention to the "bizarro" comment. Step 2: See my comment, which obviously plays off of -- and even references -- the bizarro comment. Step 3: Pull your head out of your ass There, that wasn't too difficult was it?

Some Bass Playing Guy Uh huh. And your bizarro world comment could NEVER have been seen as being a jackass. Whatever, dude. Whatever.

Man On A Mission Some Bass Playing Guy: And your bizarro world comment could NEVER have been seen as being a jackass. Only to people who have a kneejerk reaction to everything. I still find it amusing that Indy is on an oval while NASCAR is on a road course. Apparently, do did subby and whichever modmin greened the headline. You seem to be a bit outnumbered here, but go ahead and cling to your anger at a world that keeps insisting on not taking every single thing deathly serious like you do. / and yes, I'm laughing AT you, not with you

WhoIsWillo Anyone who says they enjoyed the Indy 500 but doesn't "get" IndyCar has made no effort to understand IndyCar.

downstairs WhoIsWillo: Anyone who says they enjoyed the Indy 500 but doesn't "get" IndyCar has made no effort to understand IndyCar. This years Indy 500 had a ton of passing... and passing for the lead. I don't see that in other races. Whatever... in general its just not my thing.

OregonVet It's a real sport, not an exhibition.

WhoIsWillo downstairs: This years Indy 500 had a ton of passing... and passing for the lead. I don't see that in other races. Whatever... in general its just not my thing. Eh, Milwaukee didn't, but Texas sure as heck did, and had a great finish. Iowa won't have much passing, but still will have more than your average NASACAR oval.

Jensaarai The heat races were actually held last night, but NBC Sports couldn't be bothered to show them live. They'll be shown here right before the race.

We better make the best of tonight's thread - Fark will be down next Saturday during the Kentucky race. Hey, wait a minute! I think Drew and Bruton are in cahoots to sell more tickets to the race!! |

soopey Jensaarai: Don't look up starting order, or you'll spoil the heat races for yourself. The heat races were actually held last night, but NBC Sports couldn't be bothered to show them live. They'll be shown here right before the race. NBC was too busy showing.. First round NHL draft? (acceptable..) but then cutting away before the first round ended to Olympic qualifying for diving? (absolutely and totally unacceptable on both accounts). That said, this track should be a fun one to watch these guys on. Short track, open wheels. Almost as fun as watching the ISMA supermodified guys on a 1/4 mile. An FYI, Formula 1 race is tape delayed tomorrow. It'll be aired on FOX at 12 Noon EDT. No live coverage on Speed.

I always love watching the Iowa race. |

Jensaarai

Jensaarai Definitely looks like aero push is going to be a biatch tonight.

WhoIsWillo Jensaarai: Definitely looks like aero push is going to be a biatch tonight. It will be interesting to see what happens when the tires start to drop off. My guess is you'll see a lot of passing at the start, then a lot of running in line, and then as they start catching lapped traffic and the tires start falling off, it will get real dicey.

soopey Sounds like they're still wide open around most of the track.

DanZero Is this gonna be the race thread? I submitted one earlier and did not get a greenlit email

mikaloyd Anybody have a stream?

Jensaarai DanZero: Is this gonna be the race thread? I submitted one earlier and did not get a greenlit email Yeah. I submitted this as a combo thread, but I guess a modmin decided to spin it off as its own for the Indycar race. /That's why it links to NASCAR //Actually, that's pretty funny, Admin. Well played.

WhoIsWillo DanZero: Is this gonna be the race thread? I submitted one earlier and did not get a greenlit email This will be the IndyCar race thread.

WhoIsWillo Jensaarai: Yeah. I submitted this as a combo thread, but I guess a modmin decided to spin it off as its own for the Indycar race. /That's why it links to NASCAR //Actually, that's pretty funny, Admin. Well played. I have to admit, this was better than my "If you build it, they will come." headline.

Jensaarai mikaloyd: Anybody have a stream? The usual source doesn't seem to have the heat races. Let me look around, but you may be SOL until the live broadcast. Wait, try this

Jensaarai Woohoo! First botched Indycar start of the race, and it isn't even really the race yet!

DanZero Jensaarai: DanZero: Is this gonna be the race thread? I submitted one earlier and did not get a greenlit email Yeah. I submitted this as a combo thread, but I guess a modmin decided to spin it off as its own for the Indycar race. /That's why it links to NASCAR //Actually, that's pretty funny, Admin. Well played. Well let's hope our race fans find their way over then -- never seen a race start so late, and tomorrow's NASCAR is gonna rock, I think i joined these threads over on that one last year

| Kygz
I'd like a track that encompassed several styles; a long straightaway, a high banked long turn, a no banked long turn, some turns of varying sharpness and direction and bank. /and a jump, definitely a jump //over a water hazard ///with carnivorous wildlife |

Jensaarai Good to see PPG back in Indycar. This bodes well.

Jensaarai Hehehe. Rubens Barichello described his car as "loose." His conversion is complete. Speaking of loose, I hope Power fixes his car for tonight. That thing is on the edge of control.

I either want to see Indycar back at Pocono, or I want them to bank turn 2 like Daytona for the lulz for NASCAR. |

soopey Dario's Scottish accent still bothers me after all these years.

WhoIsWillo Jensaarai: Hehehe. Rubens Barichello described his car as "loose." His conversion is complete. Speaking of loose, I hope Power fixes his car for tonight. That thing is on the edge of control. Wonder how it will change on worn tires... If his car tightens as the run goes on he could be alright.

Jensaarai As much as I want to poke fun at Mediocre Andretti, I think he has a point about that rev limiter. That shiat's only going to get worse as the track cools. Whoever manages tune their engine to get right up to that limit in the draft without hitting the limiter will make a lot of passes tonight. I'm betting on Lotus. Why would they even bother to put a rev limiter in Simona's car?

soopey Rain delay already?

WhoIsWillo Jensaarai: I either want to see Indycar back at Pocono, or I want them to bank turn 2 like Daytona for the lulz for NASCAR. IndyCar is talking with management of Pocono

Jensaarai LOL RAIN

crotchgrabber According to NBC hinch is starting third AND fifth. Awesome driving!

WhoIsWillo So the only race this season that had no rain delays... Was the Indianapolis 500

DanZero Jensaarai: LOL RAIN No problem, they'll start it at 1AM! WhoIsWillo: Jensaarai: I either want to see Indycar back at Pocono, or I want them to bank turn 2 like Daytona for the lulz for NASCAR. IndyCar is talking with management of Pocono They were considering them to replace the China race right? But they turned it down. Any word on what place they chose to replace it yet?

DanZero: They were considering them to replace the China race right? But they turned it down. Any word on what place they chose to replace it yet? I saw a tweet today that Road America was willing to host it, IndyCar was willing to go there, they had an agreed-upon date, but they were several hundred thousand dollars apart on the sanction fee. |

I'm pretty sure we're looking at a 15 race season and a change in title sponsor for 2013 |
