A wax statue could probably play better defense than the real guy.

Okay, that was pretty funny.

My favorite Madame Tussauds wax person, Kylie Minogue:

It's almost as if he's had practice at standing perfectly still with the ball in his hands, while people scream all around him.

It was funnier when Troy Polamalu did it.

Haven't watched the Melo vid yet, but that was seriously funny, and another reason for me to like the guy. Thanks for that.

Funny to see the size of an NBA star in context of 'normal' people.

Polamalu had better reactions. Melo just kinda did the same "Ooh!" move without really drawing people in first.

I went in Vegas... Really, really cool. Hands were the biggest giveaway, but stare those things in the eyes, and it gets real creepy, real fast. It was kinda cool that you could touch the models, too. They had a few that were interactive, one was Beyonce, if you grabbed her "assets", it would make her blush. Funny thing was, the sensor wasn't placed for a casual hand-on-the-ass experience, I had to reach W-A-Y up into the 'taint area... Hell, I was almost blushing more than the wax statue at that point... ;-)

Is there some reason a robot made of wax can't take a nap standing up in the middle of a bunch of wax robots? Or does that confuse you?

This is a thread about the Knicks standing still and doing nothing, so technically it's always been a draft thread.

If this is the draft thread, I would just like to say that Andy Katz tried to say bulging disc but instead said bulging dicks.

heh bulging dicks. i really hope sullinger doesn't go to the celtics just in case he overcomes his injury. they don't need a present like that after garnett and allen.

The keep him in carbonite until it's time to either host the draft, crush rebellion, and veto trades.

An intern is responsible for scrawling the date on his hand.

I thought of the same thing. They got their crying moment from Robinson, no need to interview a 9 year old girl. And trying to ask follow up questions and expecting legit answers was ridiculous.

They wanted footage of the girl crying they could show over and over again. Scum.

Maybe I'm just a huge dope for sitting around and watching this thing, but the coverage by ESPN has been atrocious. Terrible interviews and a lot of incomplete analysis.

The interviews are bad, in part, because a lot of these kids haven't had experience talking with the media.

They used to, I don't know what happened. ESPN should only get regular season basketball because TNT mops the floor with them. I miss the days of NBC and TNT handling the league. I'm sure NBC would rather have the NBA back over the NHL.

Also not knowing much about the college game makes the draft hard for me to care about. Perhaps I should get into college hoops but Texas sucks at it.

That's a good point, but they really just need to get rid of the interviews altogether. All they're doing is asking the kids "how do you think you will do on the next level" or "how do you respond to this draft criticism". It adds nothing to the program, and of course the kids are going to give their coached up agent/parent response.

The NBA draft should theoretically be the best to cover and the best for the fans to watch, because the top level guys can make a huge impact right away. Keep Van Gundy and get rid of the rest of these guys.

and it sure wasn't one of the most loaded NCAA tournaments in recent memory and that texas team didn't win a bunch of very memorable close games etc...
