MFL: Rush is laughing at all of you. His ratings were unbelieveable today and will be all the way through November. This election just got interesting. Well of course, ratings for political oriented talk shows always go up leading up to an election. Even an idiot like you figured that out. |

Weaver95: seriously tho - if you were listening to the first hour of the Limbaugh show and your 'drinking word' was taxes then you'd be hammered within 20 min, then done for the rest of the day. He must have been irate when he found out Mitt lied about fixing the Massachusetts healthcare system without having to raise taxes. |

EnviroDude: I haven't heard, did the USSC strike down the Nebraska Kickback and Louisiana Purchase - er bribes that the dems extorted from US the get Obamacare passed? That didn't make it to the final draft of the bill, there was nothing to rule on. Rough day, buddy? |

| verbaltoxin I don't listen to Rush, but today I think I should've. I don't really get off on just flat out making fun of conservatives, but this is one where it is just so shocking that it came out the way it did, and the right was wholly unprepared for it. I mean, they have nothing. Nothing! "Oh this is bad news for Obama..." That's it?! That's what you have? Your candidate is still associated with a little thing called, "ROMNEYcare," guys! He's still the quantum candidate! The guy who gets heckled with robot jokes. What does Obama have in his quiver now? Let's see: Bin Ladin - dead. Iraq - over. START treaty - ratified. Iran - sanctioned and accepting inspectors again. North Korea - Jonger's dead and Jonger Jr. is in over his head. Afghanistan - surged and is now drawing down. The economy - slowly recovering. And now healthcare reform passed through both the Congressional and judicial snuff tests. The one thing the right was counting on to sound Obama's death knell and swing independents over to Romney is gone. Chant "repeal and replace!" all you want, guys. It's not going to happen. SCOTUS decisions don't work that way. The right has one thing left to go to, and that's the economy. Again, it hasn't worked out for them. Gee, I wonder why. |

The best part was where he said the Heritage Foundation was someone you could trust, they were one of the good guys, and people should donate money to them to help them with their Repeal movement. I wanted to call in and ask why the Heritage Foundation was against their own idea, but I eventually got mad listening to that fat fark and as I always do. |

EnviroDude: I haven't heard, did the USSC strike down the Nebraska Kickback and Louisiana Purchase - er bribes that the dems extorted from US the get Obamacare passed? The "Cornhusker Kickback" didn't get included in the final bill. The "Louisiana Purchase" was an adjustment to the method by which Medicaid funds would be granted to Louisiana because of the particular circumstances of the state in a post-Katrina environment. Medicaid dollars are granted based on mean income. Louisiana's mean income spiked by 40% after Katrina due to a construction boom, but median income actually fell. Basically, a small percentage of the population consumed so much of the income gains that the government formuals for calculating the state's Medicaid allocation weren't going to be correct. It simply ensured that a poor person in Louisiana would get the same number of Medicaid dollars as in any other state. |

That poor guy just sounds old, tired, and confused. I remember when his show used to be a joy to listen to, with his big booming voice, excellent verbal pacing, and the glorious daily outrage. But now Limbaugh just sounds like a sick, angry cat sitting outside the door in a rainstorm, meowing to be let in. There's nothing pleasant about his voice at all. His show has become an affront to my ears. |

I'm really, really struggling with my schadenfreude today. On the one hand, I'm almost enjoying the conservative reaction to the ruling more than the ruling itself. On the other hand, that exactly what their attitude would have been had it been struck down. It was never about the constitutionality or the benefits/drawbacks of the program to them. it was all just a political battle. I'll take the high road in public and pick up a nice bottle of wine on the way home for my private celebration of the conservative meltdown. |

Weaver95: he freepers were saying that they wanted to kill him. And they'll soon be getting some nice visits from law enforcement. I wonder if the Secret Service doesn't have someone who does nothing but read Free Republic just to keep tabs on things. And if they do, then whatever that agent is getting paid is nowhere near enough. |

It's amazing how that changes back and forth whenever it's convenient. |

Weaver95: there were a LOT of people making threats against Justice Roberts on that site today. I'm not surprised the mods were busy as hell, though I wouldn't be surprised if certain freepers were making similar posts elsewhere where perhaps they aren't as interested in deleting things like that. |

| Felgraf hubiestubert: Compassion is a gift that you give to yourself, anger is taking a hot stone to throw at others, only to burn your own hand. Extension of compassion is an exercise in love not for yourself, but to overcome anger and distrust. He is just like any other man, just soured and bittered, and rather than learn, he is trapped in his own cycles of rage, envy, and desperate to shed any blame for his own actions, and that is the drugs, that is the real source of the anger and "ego." An attempt to convince others that he is what he isn't, and deep down, he knows that he's not, and that is why clings to the anger of envy, the rage that is his desires thwarted. I was only about a third facetious with my previous. Rush's marketable rage comes from being thwarted, and the addiction cycle comes from fully realizing it, and unable to do any better, because deep down, he knows he's not worth any better. He'll wallow in the outward signs, he'll rub folks' noses in his luck, but that doesn't mend his damage. Heck, at this point, those wounds are so familiar, that he covers them up not to heal, but to keep them open and weeping, because if they did heal, he doesn't know what he'd have left. And yeah, that is really sad when a human hurts that much. I will disagree with this statement slightly: I don't think anger is *always* self-burning. Anger can be deserved, can be righteous, can be channeled towards positive ends. Anger is OK. Hate , though, true hatred of another human being (and not just dislike), that's something that will poison your soul and mind, no matter the source. /But, yeah, I almost feel sorry for the man. Can you imagine what it must feel like, to go through life with *that much hate*? |

Weaver95: today was not a good day for Rush Limbaugh. his first hour was essentially repeating the same thing over and over again: 1. Obama lied. 2. deception 3. "biggest tax hike in history" 4. taxes taxes taxes taxes That describes 90% of his show. |
