Well, with the man-boy love reference on top of it, I think he has taken it to a whole other level.

Poor Rush. He sounds tired. Doesn't he sound tired? Maybe he just needs a vacation. Someplace tropical, maybe? Someplace where he can find a little sweet lovin' to make his hard heart melt with lurve, for at least as long as his cash holds out...

This somehow seems appropriate today.

This is an outrage folks! America's most trusted voice tells the world the truth behind the demonrats obvious influence on SCOTUS decisions, the symbolic shredding of the Constitution, the death knell of our free republic, and you show disrespect to him?! For shame! The poor man has a front row to history, and a solemn obligation to report it to the huddled masses, and even though he is hurting inside because of his foresight to what these decisions mean for our once great nation, you for some reason feel the need to mock him subby? Rush Limbaugh is more American than Sergei Leonne, Wane Gretsky, Neil Young, or any other LIBerace who dares say they know what colour atom heart space lord mother mother!

today was not a good day for Rush Limbaugh. his first hour was essentially repeating the same thing over and over again:

1. Obama lied.
2. deception
3. "biggest tax hike in history"
4. taxes taxes taxes taxes

also - Limbaugh was unfocused today, not on his game at all. he didn't sound his usual jovial self, and declared today that Obama was the loser and that the SCOTUS decision on Obamacare was a win for conservatives in this country.

You sort of have to feel sad, because this morning a man woke, had his breakfast, and was ready to crow about a decision, and then it crumbled around him. Just like Sandra Fluke, standing before Congress, brave and strong, she represented an ideal that he could never attain, never dream of holding. Such dashed hopes, they bitter a man. They bitter his world. This morning, Rush awoke, and thought to himself, "today will be a sweet, sweet, sweet victory, and I will claim happiness from the sorrow of those who I can't ever please nor share in joy. Today, I will stick it to those bastards who laugh at my gut, laugh at my bile, who I only wanted to hold with tenderness, and now they will feel my wrath..."

And it wasn't to be. Like all those women in college, who spurned him, the Supreme Court has done the same, denied him his rage, the only sup that he has left, besides sweet, sweet sweet Oxy, and the ravages of that are evident, and you have to feel sorry for a man who has been thwarted like this. It's reliving those dark moments in the black, rocking with a desire that he could not even name, let alone act upon. Each strong face that raised up, was a face he could spit on, spit on first before they could turn in disgust. Rejection on HIS terms. Power taken from the droves who he would have nurtured had they only not looked upon him with disgust. Disgust for what he wrapped himself in to protect him from rejection, from hurt, from the pain of never trying, from the pain of knowing that he had nothing to offer, that in his heart of hearts, he knew he was unworthy, but the desire, the want, the need was there. Now covered. In shame, in drugs, in trips to Kai-seng destinations, where those strong womens' faces will never trouble him, save from behind the bar, save from knock at the door to gather his towels, and collect the huddled mass that was already paid for and could return to the favela. He rose today, looking to assuage that hurt, and now thwarted, he has only rage, where he thought to feed the empty place he knows he's made in his own heart...

Let's take a moment of silence for poor Rush and his wizened up, crottled up, damaged damaged damaged soul, and pity that he's done this to his own damn self...

Rush was a bit incoherent when it came to explaining just WHY today's results were a conservative victory (something about 'now we have an issue to run on') but he was doing his level best to convince himself that it was a GOP win. Plus Limbaugh had to get the GOP groupmind propaganda spin out to the masses. expect to see phrases like 'biggest tax hike in history' and 'this is bad news for Obama' along with lines like 'Obama can't run against the Supreme court anymore' and 'loss of freedom'.

If one of MY guys showed up like that, and that off balance, I'd think that they'd had a bump or two in the bathroom before work.

I can't blame the right wing noise machine for being confused. They were so damn sure it would get overturned, or at least somewhat, that I honestly don't think they prepared for the possibility that it would be upheld. They had to re-write a whole day's news in half an hour. All of the guys who jumped the gun and then had to walk it back are probably even more angry and unhinged because they look stupider than they usually do.

I'd like to see the GOP repeat this line, and then point out that, because every American who can 1) get health insurance or 2) prove they can't get health insurance will avoid that tax, Obama would also have enacted the biggest tax cut in history.

now THAT is a very good point. I personally thought SCOTUS was gonna nuke Obamacare from orbit, then dance on its grave...when the ruling came down (and after I stopped following CNN) it became clear that SCOTUS had left the law intact....I was like: 'WTF just happened?'. I know Limbaugh has been saying that the law would be struck down literally for MONTHS. I'm sure his show was prepped for massive gloating...when the ruling became clear i'm sure he had to scramble to change things around.

no, then it would STILL have been a win for conservatives. Basically, in Limbaughs world, everything that happens is all part of the GOP's plan and the Democrats and libruls always lose.

Compassion is a gift that you give to yourself, anger is taking a hot stone to throw at others, only to burn your own hand. Extension of compassion is an exercise in love not for yourself, but to overcome anger and distrust. He is just like any other man, just soured and bittered, and rather than learn, he is trapped in his own cycles of rage, envy, and desperate to shed any blame for his own actions, and that is the drugs, that is the real source of the anger and "ego." An attempt to convince others that he is what he isn't, and deep down, he knows that he's not, and that is why clings to the anger of envy, the rage that is his desires thwarted.

I was only about a third facetious with my previous. Rush's marketable rage comes from being thwarted, and the addiction cycle comes from fully realizing it, and unable to do any better, because deep down, he knows he's not worth any better. He'll wallow in the outward signs, he'll rub folks' noses in his luck, but that doesn't mend his damage. Heck, at this point, those wounds are so familiar, that he covers them up not to heal, but to keep them open and weeping, because if they did heal, he doesn't know what he'd have left.

And yeah, that is really sad when a human hurts that much.

there was also some chanting of 'death panels' but I think Limbaugh wants to leave that mostly to Palin. Rush chose to really hammer home the whole 'its a tax/obama lied' meme.

Repubs have very little experience dealing with reality, so when some manages to break through the dissonance it's terrifyingly tragic for them and hilarious to me.
