Pets are a part of the family, unless you have no heart.

Has anyone ever suggested an ASSHAT tag? Because yeah, this guy for sure. He has a responsibility to be as thorough and precise in his consultations as he can. Carelessness is bad medicine.

There's a very, very NSFW picture floating around out there with the caption: "I was so outraged to hear what happened to your cat's penis, I shat on my balls."

I'm not mean or twisted enough to post it...
I'll just let anyone, who is morbidly curious enough to see it perform the required google-fu.

I think this is what happens to a cat when the number of people snapping one out to katie upton hits a billion.

I think any doctor who amputates anyone's penis ought to have his own penis amputated.
This applies to vets, as well.

It is standard treatment for a cat with chronic urinary crystals. Removal of the penis enlarges the urethra so that if crystals develop, they are more easily passed. It doesn't cure the condition, but it can seriously help cats that have the issue.

My pet sitter has a penis-less male cat. He has had no problems post-surgery and is doing just fine without his penis or his testicles.

/he's a farking cat
//he doesn't need a penis or testicles

I had to do this for a cat of mine. It extended his life for 7 good happy years.

Cat's don't know if they have a penis or not. Tiger was fat, happy and lazy. He never missed it, and judging by the cat box, it improved his wee-weeing.

Huh, well, now I know what to say to my husband if he ever complains about urinary issues. Prostate issues, dear? Whelp, off comes that penis. Now, come on, there's no use in arguing. Do I need to go get a crate?

This. Although, the crazy-vet-penis-chopping action the headline was going for probably makes better news. As a veterinarian reading the article, I'm envisioning the unfortunate meeting of a vet with poor communication skills and an owner with poor comprehension skills.

My parents had a male cat that had repeated urinary blockages. At one point, the discomfort caused the cat to continually lick at the area until the urethral opening became sealed shut with scar tissue. At that point, the penis had to be amputated.

Neutering an animal means that the testicles are removed, not the penis.

Well I was not sure how many farkers would know about a 1976 movie and how many of those who do were around to watch it at a theater.

I saw it originally in a theater, but until recently it was also available for streaming on Netflix. It's a fun movie to watch.

No shiat. Our boy cat got crystals in his urine and almost died when he was only a year old. They managed to bring him back around, but they said if it happened again they were essentially going to turn his junk into the world's worst vagina.

That was five years ago and he's been on special food ever since. I'm knocking on wood that we don't have to address the issue again, but I think he'll live. He's the first cat we ever had to declaw because once he reached adulthood because he simply didn't understand how farking powerful he was. After a year of stitches, the vet (the VET!) told us that some cats just had to be declawed. It didn't faze him. I doubt the lack of junk would, either, he really seems to get his pleasure from taking giant dumps.
