Completely with you. I used to watch the show a ton, and the guy clearly thrives on the negative attention that comes his way. The old format of First Take was pretty good for a morning sports variety type show when 1st and 10 was separate from it. The Tebow/LeBron thing sort of forced their hand into going all Skip all the time because of the ratings they were getting.

The show is going to hinge on how Tebow does this football season. If Tebow stays a backup, the show will fall off the map because they won't have the 'controversial' material to talk about.

ESPN needed someone to be the other side of the coin on a fulltime basis. The difference is Skip actually puts the little bit of talent he had into it and keeps up the facade as opposed to when Kornheiser and Wilbon do it for a minute then give you their real take. It's sad that his brother does a fairly god Mexican cooking show and I kinda want to punch him for the d-bag Skip can be.

He is good, and his daughter has become much less annoying on the show. The episodes he does in Mexico aren't quite as honest as they should be (like don't stray too far from your resort without a friends who's a native) but still very good.
