Whenever I see pictures of hot chicks from the 1930's and 40's, I wonder whether their feet stank.

Rogers Hornsby was my manager, and he called me a talking pile of pig shiat. And that was when my parents drove all the way from Michigan to see me play the game ... and did I cry? No ... NO!

I have vauge recollection of her. Yeah soccer. She plays for pink team I remember now. Why can't somebody "come out" as being mostly hetro but occasionally dabbling
in other types of play, cuz it's no big deal and people bees to get over it. Or for fnb and pn it was "situational". Why ehrebody gotta be 100 puhcent dis o 100 puhcent dat? Lame

Mae: 'What if, you know, I was running and my bosoms fell out?'

Doris:'Do you think, at this point in time, there is anybody left who hasn't seen your bosoms?'

If she was dying, she wouldn't bother to carve "AAGPBL". She'd just say it.

Only thing that bothers me about that movie is the strong implication that there wasn't any major league mens baseball during the war. One of the characters says as much in the film. Sigh.

"Ow. Doesn't that hurt them?

Doesn't seem to.

Well it would bruise the hell out of me."

And...

"They'll pay you 75 dollars a week.

We only make 30 at the dairy.

Well then, this would be more, wouldn't it?"

And..

It had to be yooooooooooouuuuu

It's time to bring back girls baseball. I don't know why they make little girls play softball instead of baseball. They can throw, catch, and hit a baseball better than a softball.

This from near the end of the article:

She also won a regional marbles tournament and was a Knoxville city badminton champion before turning to pro baseball after a tryout in 1946.

Are you out of the basement yet?
Those were the days!
