Not only this, but the guy was denied bail. She would have had to come back every few months to keep the restraining order and this guy isn't going anywhere. The restraining order didn't stop this guy from hunting her down with a knife into a police station. If that didn't stop him what are the chances that a legal order is going to do it?

Hold on a minute subby. In Wisconsin (in Fox Lake, I believe), there was a man who chased his wife into the police station and killed her. Probably didn't help that the police station was closed. And, in small towns here in Wisconsin, if you beat your spouse, they will separate you and give you the cooling off period, especially if you know the cop. It feels like domestic violence intervention is not a high priority here. Not many women's shelter unless you live in an urban area.

I don't give a fark about a restraining order. If I'm in love with a woman, then no stupid piece of bureaucratic shiat paper is going to keep me away from her. I've found that women get overwhelmed with all the attention I want to give them -- calling them to see where they are, testing them to make sure they're faithful, toughening them up emotionally and physically. Sometimes they just need to get away for a little while, which makes my cabin upstate a perfect place for them to unwind. Don't get me wrong - I'm not some sort of possessive maniac. If she wants to leave, and proves it to me, then I will let her go, though no one will ever love her and she's going to be miserable without me.
