Because People in power are Stupid ![]() Thanks Grandma for ridding us of this whippersnapper. Seriously shot 8 times and still had enough breath to call 911 -she should have shot 9 times. |
||
| Walker An autopsy revealed that Jonathan was shot three times in the chest, once in the abdomen and once in his left arm. The teen also had traces of synthetic marijuana in his urine, tests showed. Bath salts? Was he trying to eat her? But seriously, you might be able to claim self defense if you just shot him once in the chest. But to go back inside and shoot him 2 more times in the chest is cold-blooded murder. |

"If you listen closely to the 911 tape, he's grabbing onto her and he's holding her. He's not letting her go," her lawyer said. Maybe he's trying to keep her from putting a few more rounds him. |

Strange story, that 'synthetic marijuana' is weird stuff though. I've heard of people having some pretty crazy reactions to it. |

Not bath salts, Incense. K2, Oz, Spice, Chronic.... and your local party store or gas station will gladly sell anybody, even an 8 year old, a packet if you have $25 to spend on it. The problem is this stuff can cause severe psychosis. It's bad enough that the military, which usually second chances pot and cocaine users, will kick you out if you have this in your possession. It's not a reaction to hysteria or flustered helicopter moms, but a result of seeing the damage in naval hospital psych wards. Bath Salts tends to be a bit worse, because the synthetics used are "harsher" targets, like PCP analogs. Both are bad, IMO. Its users are in the same class as paint huffers. |

She shot the kid absolutely full of holes, while he was calling the police and begging for his life. Maybe he was a bad kid, maybe she shouldn't have let him live with her, who knows? But she murdered him, and cared enough about doing so to reload in order to finish up. |

My younger brother started doing it a few years ago and has not been the same since. He smoked pot before but never had anger/psychosis problems until he started doing that synthetic shiat. I don't think most realize how dangerous it really is unless they've dealt with it personally. |

As always anyone sticking their hands into this situation will get it wrong, there's too much private time going on. Not just us smarting around on teh internetz but the prosecutors/police. Trying to shape up a kid at an advanced age can be impossible or difficult and he may've been far worse at times. Nonetheless it's hard to come up with an excuse for shooting him. |

Since the way both of these drugs are created leads to an endless array of annalouges, banning will do nothing to stop them. One substance gets banned, they will just release a slightly modded version. The only sensible solution is to make real marijuana legal, and easily available. |

This broke the same week an aquaintance and K2 smoking partner of the teen broke into his adoptive family's home with a friend, and beat the father to death. The mother and brother are still in the hospital recovering from the beating. I believe he killed the dog as well, but left the 7 year old sister alone. Link |

| LesserEvil DaCaptain19: Is there not currently a federal ban on all of those? Not saying nothing will come along to take their place, but...I think all that is now a federal crime. ... nunpunter: Since the way both of these drugs are created leads to an endless array of annalouges, banning will do nothing to stop them. One substance gets banned, they will just release a slightly modded version. They are designer drugs, and the narco schedule that controls these require specific formulas. The Dutch cafe where this stuff is concocted has hundreds of variations, they just shift from one to another and keep spraying cow manure and packaging it as "incense" "not for human consumption" or on cheap bath salts. There is a bill to stop this, but Rand Paul is blocking it "as an issue of states' rights" - though no other Republicans want to block it. More troubling is that even if they ban a specific formulation, it's expensive to test for, so it's impractical to enforce right now. My solution is simple: Subject anybody selling incense or bath salts for more than $5/oz to pay for the State Police to test three samples a year. Fail a test, lose your liquor/fuel/whatever license for 6 months. Party stores and gas stations will fall all over themselves to not sell another packet ever again. They only sell this crap because it's an easy buck and they have no conscience. My corner gas station stopped selling it almost as soon as they started, when the owner realized what this crap was doing. Yes, he saw an easy buck, but wasn't willing to pay the price ethically. Shame more store owners don't feel that way (and his realization came LONG before all the.current news) |

Out of the box they'll carry 10 +1 (medium / large frame Glocks) with higher capacity magazines pretty readily available that further increase that capacity. The compact frame Glocks (if memory serves) carry 6 +1..at least in the .40 chambering. The point being it's quite likely she did not reload and may well have continued to fire because he continued to do whatever it was she wanted to stop. Sadly we'll never know if he got to the Werthers bowl or not. |

2nd degree murder. Really no other verdict is justifiable. I feel sorry for the woman, being stuck with this nightmare kid, while her kid was on the other side of the country doing god-knows-what, but she still shot him nine times, at least once while he was on the phone begging 911 to help him. Awful situation all around. |
