Obamacare was based on the fraudulent premise that we have almost 50 million Americans without health insurance and that this is tantamount to a lack of access to health care. The facts should help dispel this pernicious propaganda

0bama[doesnt]care was based on the lie that poor people don't have very much money. They have refrigerators, they have hair extensions, they have those fancy pierced nails. But they don't have health insurance because they're poor? Obviously a lie. They don't have health insurance because they're lazy. And N0bamaNocry is nothing more than a federally funded grabber arm paid for with the sweat off real Americans' backs.

we have almost 50 million Americans without health insurance...

...In fact, millions included in that number are illegals

Then they wouldn have been counted in the number of Americans without insurance, would they?

Beyond this glaring hole in the author's logic, I pretty much skimmed the rest of the article. Were there citations for any numbers given in the rest of the argument? I just couldn't bring myself to keep reading.

Yeah, that's what the article made it look like, however he did graduate and then went to law school--according to Wiki. That being said, just because you graduated law school and work as an attorney, that does not make you an expert in the "law". I don't think any attorney claims to be an expert in the "law". They may claim being an expert in family law, tax law, administrative law, immigration law, etc. That's like saying one is an expert in medicine.

I'm one of uninsurable people (flat feet + min dose of simvistatin = uninsurable => fark you Anthem) with an uninsurable wife whose small business does not offer a group insurance plan, who would rather not have to deal with private insurance, on state insurance I pay for, who would most likely benefit from holding my nose, biting the bullet and using the exchange to get private insurance.

So, you're saying that we don't have 50 million people who don't have health insurance?

In fact, millions included in that number are illegals; millions are young people in good health who can afford but choose not to purchase health care (the "young invincibles") -- as many as 18 million; millions are eligible for government assistance and don't avail themselves of it; and millions are only uninsured for short periods of time.

... oh. You're saying those 50 million don't count.

Do you have a problem with that? College degrees are a brand that marks you as one of them elitist liberal pansies that use things like facts and reality in every day life. There is no room for that in the current GOP party or in the lives of the people that call themselves Republicans. He went to college long enough to study the enemy, figure out how they think and realized that he didn't need all this incomprehensible learning crap when he can just easily state that he is "an expert in law and politics" at random on the web.

Hell, he probably has a very lovely law degree done in crayon and magic marker hanging on his wall because he doesn't need a fake degree made by those fancy communist printers with their socialist cables and their lieberal designed user interfaces that are so confusing and intimidating for a guy born in 1952 and just trying to ride his equally dimwitted yet far more talkative brother's coattails.

Oh, and he realized he could do even better by name-dropping his brother. Nothing like some nice sloppy-seconds from all the hot dittohead action out there.

No, it was based on the premises that those without health care cause inefficiencies in the provision of health care by acting as free riders who get health care without paying, forcing those with health care to pay for them, that they sometimes wait too late to get treatment due to lack of coverage, causing illnesses that can be simply treated initially to balloon into more costly and complicated to treat illnesses, which others have to pay for, that they sometimes put everyone 's health at risk by acting as vectors for communicable diseases when they forego treatment due to lack of coverage, and that, sometimes, due to lack of medical care, they die, (estimates are 50,000/yr) which act as a drain on the economy when they are well-trained and/or educated individuals.

No, their arguments is that "out of the 50 million, millions are illegal, millions are healthy and choosing not to buy insurance, only about 8 million are truly poor and can't buy insurance".

I'm not sure of all the fact, here is a census breakdown (start at page 23) http://www.census.gov/prod/2011pubs/p6 0-239.pdf looks like about 9 million are foreign non citizens, this does NOT mean they are illegal though. About 20 million are over the age of 35, past the age one could argue are young and don't need insurance. I'm sure you can find other facts in there if you look.
