You know, I've been meaning to get rid of my left foot for a while now. Do I have to move to Wisconsin for it to happen, or can I just visit?

Drought and diabetes will have the many of the same effect and they're both prevalent right now in this state.

Dear Scotty,
I'm one of your constituents paying for myself and my wife to partake in the state sponsored HIRSP program. With exchanges set up, we could maybe consider another choice besides the one and only choice afforded to us, subsidized by Wisconsin insurance companies and the state.
Thank you,
-Petey4335

I see a ton of those bumper stickers and lawn signs on the drive up to and in the Fox Cities. How anyone can think the governor selling state assets to his corporate overlords and disbanding unions is a good thing is beyond me.

-- 150,000 people will stop buying health insurance in the private sector and will instead become dependent on the government and taxpayers

How is that possible? Isn't the point of the whole thing that people have to buy insurance?

Approximately 122,000 parents, caretakers and pregnant women with an income of more than 133 percent of the federal poverty level will no longer be eligible for Medicaid.

Yeah I'm sure Scott Walker is in favor of expanding Medicaid.

One talking is point is that there doesn't seem to be anything stopping businesses from getting downright terrible (for coverage or price) plans to offer their employees. Employees say "Aw, Hell Naw!" and have to go to the exchanges, not their employer, for coverage.

Walker failed to mention what Gruber said was a key finding of his report; the fact that 340,000 uninsured Wisconsinites would gain coverage.

Not sure whether to feel sorry for people living in Wisconsin nowadays or just say "Hey, you had your chance, suck it".

Depends a lot on my current state of caffeination.

So, basically exactly like right now. Except that all plans are also covered by the profit limit regulations.

Why don't employers do that now? I would think the same reasons the employers subsidized health insurance now would apply in the future.

A lot of data that goes into those stats are not uniformly counted. For instance, in the US infant mortality counts all baby deaths including stillborns, premies, etc. Most countries do not count it like this.

Hence why he exempted police and firefighters unions, you know, because those aren't state employee unions...

He's OK with tighter regulations on anyone that isn't a businessperson or kowtows to business - by virtue of his regulations that he has enacted and the debts Walker created.

Walker didn't want it to blow up in his face like it did in Ohio. Had Walker tried to shove a consistent bill, he'd have to make the same sheepish apology for trying the bill.

Thankfully for my home state, Kasich had the arrogance to try. The result was a repealed bill, a governor stripped of his ALEC mandate to reign, and a state that has prospered in ways that Walker couldn't ever imagine.

Not when you could be staring at about a 30% rate hike (the max you can ask for from the state in a year) from providers.

/Not reporting fact, just what I've read on the "other side".

That's the real debt for accepting the help of ALEC - you have to sell off state assets - for any of the 2010 governors. The "insolvency" to get the union restriction bill is the fake one.

Well, MA had the highest insurance premiums in the country before Romneycare and they still have the highest.

The graph looks the same for all years since, except the average has gone up. Was the MA law called "Affordable Care"? If not, maybe that was the problem.

Also:

Damn, MA, you spend a lot on "health care".

as a person living in Wisconsin, anything this guy does the next 2 yrs i'm fine with. We voted him in twice, so we should face the consequences of our actions. And if that means some poor hillbillies from anywhere outside the few main cities in our state hack off a limb in a tractor, or grandpa cant afford medicine, so f'n be it. I hope this gets the state democratic party off their fat ass and get us a person we can rally behind. Russ isn't coming out of retirement so get the hell over it

Fair enough r/e infant mortality, although the link provided does not provide an amended ranking based on harmozined statisticals - just says the US would rank better than it does. Kind of weak to say something would have 'x' impact and then not provide 'x'. Or did I miss a link to new rankings?

The original link is to a composite study based on several variables? Where are the challenges to the rest? Again, sorry if I'm just going data blind & can't see it...
