WaWa is not WaWa. WaWa is Wawa.

And Wawa was the reason I bought my house where I did. There are 5 of them within a 5 square mile radius.

And Wawa is both. Fast deli food.

Pretty much just soggy crust. Blech.

I get the feeling if I ever went out for a Pizza with Romney and Trump I would totally lose it on them.

Fast-food companies aren't lobbying for a reduction in the minimum wage these days-at least not openly (since it's not tracked to inflation, the minimum wage decreases in real value every year anyway). But they have a vested interested in a number of policies that would bring them into conflict with the Democratic party. Among some chain restaurants' preferred policies: the lowest possible wages for workers and few (if any) benefits; tort reform to discourage lawsuits (McDonald's, you'll recall, was the defendant in the famous hot coffee case); anti-union legislation; no new nutritional and food safety standards; and a crackdown on consumer-friendly statutes like the Patients Bill of Rights (fiercely opposed by the National Restaurant Association).

Yeah, fark the restaurants. Seriously, screw'em. I worked in that field almost my entire 20's, as well as all through High School, and i only worked in one restaurant that treated me like a human, rather than a farking no-name robot. I really appreciated waiting tables for $2.35/hour. Sure, I made tips, but since the restaurant wasn't paying the tips, then I didn't owe THEM more than $2.13 worth of work in each hour. Funny thing is, we had far more sidework than any other position there. The higher your pay, the less you did once the rush was over. Hostesses made regular minimum wage, as soon as thew rush was over, they were cut and went home. As soon as a server was cut, there was anywhere form an hour to 2 hours of sidework to do, still for $2.13/hour, and with no chance of a raise in your future. Maybe different rates to clock in for on the days you train new people, but only for those days, and never a raise on your basic job rate.

Unless you're in Oregon, they don't believe in farking with workers, you get a regular minimum wage, even if it's a tipped position, such as waiting or bussing.

I don't really feel sorry for the restaurants, especially when they're doing well enough that the Pap John's founder lives in a mansion. They're not hurting.

Mitt Romney has a complicated relationship with fast food. He likes pizza, but insists on scraping off the cheese before he ever takes a bite. He likes fried chicken, but only when the skin has been removed. He likes Big Macs, but only after removing the middle bun. He likes Coca-Cola because, he explained in his 2004 book Turnaround, it reminds him of polar bears, but he rarely drinks it because he can't have caffeine. On the trail, Romney has name-dropped Carl's Jr. and spoken of the wonders of WaWa but subsists mainly on granola he carries around in one-gallon Ziploc bags.

In his heart, he is not an American.

Fried chicken without the skin, is by the very defintion, not fried chicken. It is also an unholy concept of food fit only for the lord of darkness.

He likes Big Macs, but only after removing the middle bun.
When did big mac start coming with a triple bun? Is this some tongue-in-cheek reference to him removing the patty because it tastes like bread, or has it just been that long since I've eaten at McDonalds?

Well the, my bad.
In my defense, if you have to advertise that your hamburger has all-beef patties - instead of people being able to rely on the assumption that you're not feeding them sawdust, then I have to wonder what you're not telling us about the preparation.

/Also, did the site get redesigned or did my monitor just slip into a lower resolution. Everything looks bigger and more large-printish.

You know, if the fast food industry was going to pick a candidate, they certainly wouldn't go with Mitt. In decent shape, associated with world-level athletes? No chance. Now Chris Christie - there's a guy McDonalds could get behind.

/As long as he doesn't do a suprise trust fall.
/Anyone else notice that Christie and Rick Scott show a similarity to Allfather D'aronique and Herr Starr?

Anybody get the impression that in day to day life Romney is really a cheap miser? Someone who doesn't like restaurants because it is much cheaper to eat at home and when he has to eat away from home packs food from home? And that all food for home must be bought in the largest economy size packages?

He can't eat cheese, or anything overtly oily, like fried chicken skin, because it takes longer for his nanogastric processors to break down fats if they haven't already been partially converted to trans fats. He can't eat the club portion of the Big Mac bun not because of dietary issues, but because of mechanical issues - his primary & secondary grinders expect organic material to be either homogenous in texture (hence the granola) or to be increasingly fibrous or resilient from outside to inside. The club bun clogs his secondary grinders.

He drinks Coke, of course, because he remembers that, even in small quantities, phosphoric acid keeps his valve seats clean, and so he tolerates the small organic dysfunctions triggered by caffeine to appear more human. (People frown on him drinking pure phosphoric acid - once, one of his many unsuspecting handlers sipped from his cup. It didn't go well.)

Gee, I wonder why? The Republican goal to increase income disparity will eventually cause 70% of the population who wants to eat in a restaurant to only be able to afford fast food.

This post is my favorite.

/we can solve the club-bun problem with a CVG-R unit (Continuously Variable Grinder - Recursive). With its adaptive teeth and ability to reprocess foods over and over he'll be able to eat foods of all sorts of density/fiber profiles. The only problem is the noise (65 db) and finding room in the chest cavity to support a 630 lb unit.

So, he doesn't like fried chicken then, he likes chicken. Frying is just another way to cook it if there's no breading to soak in grease.

On the trail, Romney ... subsists mainly on granola he carries around in one-gallon Ziploc bags.

Ah, granola. The quintessential hippie food.

And the rest of that article is just downhill from there.

I've drank the occasional caffeine-free Coke (my mom buys the stuff), and you can definitely taste the difference. The caffeine has a bit of bitterness to it, which makes the overall flavor much more complex and satisfying.
