As an American who only has the vaguest knowledge of soccer personalities, it seems like pretty much every English (actually, ANY foreign) footballer is a douchebag. Yes/no?

I wouldn't say it's any worse than any other sport, American or otherwise. Famous athletes seem to have a high douchebag to nice guy ratio.

The story is that he thought the other guy accused him of making a racist remark and repeated the remark as something along the lines of, "Did that guy say I called him a [redacted]?" and that's what was caught on tape.

If I recall, he was "trembling with anger" he was so upset about it.

To be fair, he has previous as he was caught on camera calling Carlos Tevez an "argie coont" in the 2008 Champions League Final, then spat at him. But to be honest, I don't think Terry is actually racist. He's just really, really, really farking stupid

yeah, it is someone from Argentina, but you don't really need to preface "coont" with "argie" really, and argie has slipped into the same lexicon as "paki" (from Pakistan) as a word which is kinda racist just because... I don't really know why. Also, The Falklands

Ashley Cole is such a self centred dickhead i trust him less than Terry's own lawyer. Now if someone on the Chelsea team with some personal integrity like Drogba said Terry wasn't racist i would believe him.
