Benjamin Stone: I love Breaking Bad so much I actually opened up Internet Explorer just to post this: Link /Great recap //Fark no longer works on Chrome Works for me. The font's weirdly bigger now, but that's about it. |

@toshiro Look at his relationship with his former business partners in season 1 and 2. I'm betting he was always like this, this just made it worse. He's always had his foolish pride. The stakes just weren't always this high. |

There are too many moments for me to have just one favorite. My husband and I watched seasons 1-3 in a marathon session on Netflix streaming thru the Wii. Didn't have the chance to watch the show prior to that. This show has redeemed Netflix and its otherwise weak catalogue in my book. We did have to buy season 4 on dvd once we realized that it was unavailable online....we are chomping at the bit to see 5, just like everyone else. We'll certainly end up buying the entire series. This discussion reinforces my belief that at some point we'll want to watch it all start to finish again...and again...(kind of like with "Band of Brothers"). |

whizbangthedirtfarmer: I started watching Breaking Bad once it had already completed a few seasons. I heard here and from somewhere else that it was a great show, but keep in mind that some of these people are telling me Sons of Anarchy and Mad Men are great shows too. Well, I have to say, Breaking Bad has been the only show where I have been completely involved and engaged with whatever is happening, and there have been some definitely chilling moments as Walter descends (or ascends) into his amorality. Impressive, stylish, wonderfully written and directed. I'm just guessing people who recommend this show while talking about Sons of Anarchy being great simply miss the nuances and go with the "hey it's cool I'm watching a show about a guy who makes meth" factor. The best moment in the series was the very slight smile Walter gets on his face after the "stay out of my territory" line. He understands that his reputation is starting to insulate him from not only thugs, but his former life as a weenie high school teacher as well. I like both SOA and Breaking Bad. Breaking Bad kicks SOA's ass on many different levels, but SOA is a decent show if you stick with it. Katy Sagal is particularly great in it. I got into that show late though. I didn't care for it at first, but I decided to check out all of FX's dramas in a giant marathon when I had a week long vacation and I learned to love it. Also got into Justified. Damages is up for next vacation. |

kab: The whole "you're building a robot?" exchange between Walt and Jessie is certainly one of the funniest in the show. I LOVED that. The article mentioning that it wasn't even in the script makes it even better. The way Jesse delivered that line was great. I actually believed he believed Walt was fully capable of cobbling together a little robot to roll along the rocks and sand and bring back the cavalry to save them. |

The stakes just weren't always this high. Mmhmm... no doubt there. Pride is definitely his cardinal sin. He had to go and find the worst possible outlet for that jazz. eddiesocket: libranoelrose: One more day... I hate Vince Gilligan for making me wish away the weekend. I know the feeling. That's what I love about the show (amongst many other things): even in all the darkness, there's some hilarious stuff going on. Walt's disdain for Funyuns was great, too. |

eddiesocket: Dafatone: I got my mom and stepdad (around age 60) into Breaking Bad and they love it. What's funny is that they can't explain it to their friends. At all. Friends always go, "it's about someone who makes meth? How awful! How can you watch that!" It's as if fictional TV no longer exists to these people. Their first assumption is always that it's a reality show or something. I'm sure they know it's fiction. Unfortunately, some people can't let a moment pass without reminding everyone how morally superior they are. This knows no age boundaries. The one time I saw this in person, it really was that they had trouble thinking of it as fiction. Other times, who knows. |

| dustman81 eddiesocket: Poorlytoldjoke: My favorite thing about the show, is watching Walt begin to think he's a bad man, and then get slapped down repeatedly. Every time he starts to think he's the big bad wolf, something horrible happens, and it always scales up. Right now, he essentially thinks he's the biggest and baddest wolf there is. I suspect the hand of god is going to slap him down pretty hard by the end of this season. Yeah, exactly. The "badass" scenes like "stay out of my territory" and "I am the one who knocks" are actually scenes where Walt is all bluster and attitude with nothing to back it up. He's "won" so far, due to being very smart, not tough. And also being very lucky. That luck's about to run out. I wonder if Hank is going to realize that Walt has an uncanny resemblance to Heisenberg and start questioning where the money came from that Walt used to buy the car wash. |

"Heisenberg" is just a rough sketch drawing of a generic dude with glasses. Walt doesn't really resemble it all all. I'm sure Hank will, for now. assume Gus was Heisenberg. But no doubt something will encourage him to keep digging. |
