It is definitely unique, and it works. Whatever is done at the backend doesn't matter to the user. teh user experience is what counts, and despite all the small modifications and methods to monetize the site so it pays for itself and Drew's various addictions, it still does the same thing; aggregate news with a smattering of humour and attempted sarcasm from its members. I've yet to laugh. Although GD in a bikini did once give me a semi.

Digg was great for a while, because of tech and neato stuff. Then it just blew up into reddit, and the news always took 24-36 hours to hit main page, and the only way to get anything done was like the same guy 90000 times, to get that story on the main page 5 times a week. Digg was slower than CNN at one point. I just said "fark it, I'm sticking with the oligarchical dictatorship that is the Fark approval process."

A number of us are home brewers and home distillers, so add a good many gallons of hooch to the list of assets.

So this means Fark is worth, what, two bottles of cheap wine and a hooker?

Pretty much what I thought. If you can make $10k-$100k a month let it ride. And save plenty of those pennies so you have something to fall back on until you find something else if this goes tits up.
