When you claim something like that it's traditional to link to something that backs up that claim. |
||
| Happy Hours
When? Surely not in this video |
||
| aiiee oh come on, the World Rally Championship 2002 "In The End" video is indicative of most excellent audio/visual sync. and and general musical spiffiness. |

Hey, I liked In The End! Also, their recent single, "Burn It Down", isn't all that bad. However, this is coming from someone who also appreciates Maroon 5, 70s progrock, and 80s hair metal, so take this recommendation however you like. |
||
| mikemoto I Have The Touch of a Shocked Monkey: Hey, I liked In The End! In the End was a ripoff of Faith No More's Epic, right down to the lone piano fadeout at the end. |

I Have The Touch of a Shocked Monkey: Also, their recent single, "Burn It Down", isn't all that bad. Link. Same title, better song, WTF video. /full confession: I still think Papercut is a good song. |

Faint and Papercut are my favorites from their respective albums. Of course, I only have the first two albums to choose between. There's only about a dozen albums that came out when I was in high school and early college that remain on my 'things I'd listen to' list that gets synced to my sole piece of Apple technology. Those two Linkin Park albums still make the cut. The energy makes up for the emo, and some days you just want to listen to angry emo. |

Subby probably means the first 15 seconds of track 1 on their debut album. I respectfully disagree. Also, fark this shiat. |

Ow, that hurt my ears My ears they will not heal. |

| WhoIsWillo This is actually worse than the single they have out now, and the only thing it's better than is the new Offspring album. |

MusicSim8: Really the only Linkin Park tune worth listening to Cure for the Itch You're joking, right? Please? /old man |
||
| Giltric Well the guy in the video said he wished he could disappear, so I closed the window. I mean why put on such a big production like that if you don't want to be seen. |

GAT_00: The energy makes up for the emo, and some days you just want to listen to angry emo. Respectfully, there are way better angry emo bands to choose from. Especially from that era. Hawthorne Heights and Brand New come to mind. |

I would not have characterized Linkin Park as emo. |

| bmr68
They did a great cover of Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" |
||
| GAT_00
cameroncrazy1984: Hawthorne Heights I have one of their albums. Had to turn it off 10 seconds into the first track. |

Also, that video seems to have been the inspiration for that terrible, terrible second episode of the BBC's Sherlock. |

| NewportBarGuy Subby, you're supposed to inject the heroin, not snort it. |

Their first album is among the worst recorded major label albums that this audio engineer has ever heard. None of the effects sound right and there is something dramatically wrong with the sound of the thing. The song that the poster linked to is wholeheartedly undesirable to my ears. Even Merzbow sounds better to me. |
||
| Deddude9988
Oh. It's that horrible rap-metal song I got tired of halfway through the first time I ever heard it back in High School. I had hoped maybe subby had stumbled on some embryonic phase of Linkin Park before Rap-metal existed or something. Apparently I was wrong. Headline, however, is very wrong. |

| John Paul Jones
Has anyone else pointed out how much this sucks yet? |
||
| dennysgod
Sounds like every other Linkin Park song so your argument is invalid. |
||

John Paul Jones: Has anyone else pointed out how much this sucks yet? That may not be possible. /Back to '90s dance hits for me. //They all sound the same, but at least they're fun... |
||
| Smagma
As a child of the '90s.. i heard this song wayyyyyyy too much.. and each time i heard it was worse than last.. but still, it isn't as bad as some of the shiat on the radio now. Especially from the bieber / jonas / cyrus genre of trash. |

Because "good" is english for "I liked it". There is no good or bad. You either like it or you don't. There's a craft involved in making something, be it music, movies, painting, writing, whatever, but unless you know anything about that craft more than any other schlub out there, you are not qualified to make a generalized statement that something is "good" or "bad" or to criticize people who disagree with your opinion. Even when you're talking about craft, you could argue pros and cons for either side. Micheal Bay vs Darren Aronofsky. Aronofsky is unarguably better at telling a story with the medium, better with characters, better with themes. Bay, however, is way better at giving an audience a quick thrill, knows how to make slick, sense-stimulating scenes, and is probably better at managing a gargantuan set. Which one is 'better'? Depends on who you talk to and what they want when they see a movie. Personally, I think Linkin Park have gotten better in the last several years. Their first album is really just them hitting a few chords and doing a verse-chorus-verse and trying to act all hardcore. Their newest stuff is basically the same, but mellowed out. Some of their newer stuff is a bit more complex, and it's definitely engineered better, but it's still basically the same structure. They've done some interesting shiat, tho. People who hate on shiat like this because it's 'bad' music are just as shallow and close-minded as the fans who will listen to nothing but. |
||
| acanuck Subby's clearly a Wall Streeter who can't handle the call for a revolution in BURN IT DOWN |
||
| browntimmy
Ah yes, one of the many songs that came out when I was a teenager that drove me to start listening to classic rock instead. |
||
| Veloram
Points of Authority? Not the remix-like thing. The original off Hybrid Theory. Or, My December? |
