Might as well add a "b" in his last name. |

Looking for a trade to the Bengals? |

| grinding_journalist Unless there are specific laws he broke regarding the ownership of the gun (and lying to the cops about it), this could *probably* be resolved by the judge getting everyone in the courtroom together, berating them for being thickheaded assholes, making them apologize to each other and take a road rage class, and taking their guns away for a few years, at the very least. Yeah, it was dumb, but nobody got shot. /spare me the what ifs, what happened happened |

Yes, I understand flashing guns in traffic is a "bad, mkay", but aggravated assault? Seriously? |

I thought Florida was one of those republican hellholes like texas where gun ownership was mandatory and shooting people was not only encouraged but a god given right. |

wyldkard: Yes, I understand flashing guns in traffic is a "bad, mkay", but aggravated assault? Seriously? Surprised it wasn't felony menacing myself. Not sure if what he did can actually be construed as assault or even attempted assault. But menacing with a deadly weapon? Oh yeah. That could be up to a Class 5 felony in Colorado. I'm always amazed at how much trouble NFL players can get into during the 6 weeks between mini-camp and the start of actual training camp. |

Road rage never works out for anyone. Laugh at people who are raging at you. It's hilarious. |

Said weapons were found in their possession. Better hope they were acquired legitamately. Aggravated assault when they showed the other people their gats as they approached the vehicle . Nobody has to get shot for a crime to take place. Remember there is a witness so its a little more than he said she said. IMO if it was just people yelling at each other Id agree that some counseling is probably all that is needed. If found guilty of the gun crimes he needs to do some time. |

He handled things rationally and calmly. The right to bear arms is a right passed on from our foreskins of yesteryear... |

didnt dum dum also deny having a weapon in his vehicle when asked by the cops, and when said vehicle was searched they found it in the glovebox? also hilarious that the gun flashing happened outside a victorias secret.... i bet that happens all the time /if ya know what i mean |

It varies from state to state, but generally, if you're permitted to carry concealed, it must remain concealed unless it's a life or death situation. CCP's don't give you the right to waive your gun around because someone pissed you off. |

wasnt it Elvis Dumervil that was stomped on by Marcus Vick in a bowl game? I think it was, he tried to stomp on Dumervil's neck or something. |

The Flexecutioner: wasnt it Elvis Dumervil that was stomped on by Marcus Vick in a bowl game? I think it was, he tried to stomp on Dumervil's neck or something. It was his leg/knee. Dumervil made the tackle on him, Vick got up and stomped him right in the back of his knee. Refs missed it. Dumervil was slow on the break from that play forward all game. 06 Gator Bowl. |

Just saw on twitter that 27 NFL players have been arrested this offseason. That can't be true, can it? If it is, I don't want to hear anyone ever claim the NBA is the league of thugs ever again. |

Sorry, facts. |

And that doesn't include Dumervill or Bryant. So, close enough for me. The League seriously needs to get its shiat together. |

| TheJoe03 How many NBA players have been arrested in the last 5 years compared to NFL? Thug league my ass. |
||
| puffy999
How many NFL players are there versus NBA players? Let me remind people: if a guy is at an NFL training camp and ends up never really in the running for a roster spot, but is arrested, he's still treated as an NFL player. There are more guys who are cut from NFL training camps (and into the preseason) than there are guys who even ATTEND many NBA training camps. /let's be honest, football players at ALL levels can be pretty f*cked up //since when did the NFL become a combination between the whiteness of the NHL and the politeness/class of chess? |
||
| puffy999
Or we could look at draft picks. 7 rounds versus 2. Again, a draftee who never signs a contract would be considered an NFL athlete when looking at one's criminal record. I actually agree that the NFL is a league full of farkholes. Worse than the NBA with respect to the worst violent acts (ie: murder). All pro sports have too much of a tendency for men to beat women and commit other crimes, but the NFL is pretty bad across the board (even WHITE COLLAR CRIMES of all things). The league needs work, and in my opinion it needs to start YEARS BEFORE prospective players enter the league. Hell, how about cleaning up COLLEGE football for a start... I'm looking at you, SEC (because I don't want to look at Penn State). I just wanted to point out that it's slightly disingenuous to try to compare apples to apples. One sport has a hell of a lot more athletes AND ex-athletes, ergo a much larger pool from which to draw. |
||
| TheJoe03 puffy999: How many NFL players are there versus NBA players? So then what is the %, Kidd is the only guy I can remember get popped in the last couple years. |

TheJoe03: puffy999: How many NFL players are there versus NBA players? So then what is the %, Kidd is the only guy I can remember get popped in the last couple years. You either have a bad memory or don't pay attention |
||
| TheJoe03 redmid17: You either have a bad memory or don't pay attention So what' the percentage? I constantly hear about these NFL guys getting arrested, but the NBA has been quiet lately. Kidd, Arenas...who else in the last few years? Half the Bengals and Lions rosters have been charged, so tell me what percent of both leagues are getting in trouble with the law. Two NFL stars have done 2 years prison time while NBA players have been under the radar. |

I heard that the Paterno family, just by reflex, issued a statement saying Dumervil is innocent and they'd like to see the arrest report reviewed. |

It also takes all of the tension and frustration out of the situation on my end, and I see it instantly for what it is: not a big deal at all. |
