Good for you UK. I hope you benefit greatly from the Olympics. Meanwhile, we had brave Americans cheering when Chicago lost the chance to host the next Olympics. |

It would have been 40,000 if G4S weren't a bunch of twats and whoever decided that having one private company handle all the security wasn't such a tit. |

Good luck to them. Who knows - if they do the job well, they might be taken on for a longer period of time. |

The games start in 10 days. This type of stuff should have been handled weeks ago. By the time the hiring process is done, training is done, and the workers are actually productive and efficient in their positions, the games will be over. Yes, TFA says these are for low skilled positions earmarked for those currently without jobs, but still. |

Serve. /When toilet overflows: mop up. |

It sounds as though those who are already employed are working at the Olympics, while the temp workers are filling in at the places that sent workers to the Olympics. FTA: "The positions have been created as companies - including McDonald's - move their best staff to London for the Games. This has opened up 30,000 vacancies in shops, fast-food restaurants and cleaning firms across Britain." So basically, if you want the best/unscrewed-up burger, go to a McD's at the Olympic Village. |

Maybe it is a financial nightmare... and maybe it isn't... but that's not why they cheered. |

I wonder how many of them won't show up for work like the Olympic security guards |

I honestly expected this to be a "30,000 prostitutes" story. Would bet that the games will end up being a net financial loss for London. |
