The Aunt Jemima and ladies of the night part was priceless. No way would they do it today. But you have to admit it truly was a grand opening. Walt had some good connections. |

Didn't Uncle Walt christen this day "Black Tuesday," due to all the mishaps in opening the park? /DNRTA |

Not that I ever heard but they ended up with 8 kids and living 500 miles away so it still would have been expensive - 2 passes I didn't go to Disneyland until I was 21. |

Every child who attended opening day got a brass key that entitled them to free admission to DL for the rest of their lives. BTW. Admission back in 1955 was $1, but you had to buy a ticket book to go on the rides. |

I was there twice.1st time in 1987, I was drinking a beer with some friends in the parking lot when a security guard came up and told me to get rid of the beer. Now I just moved from New York a year earlier.Back in the 80's if a police officer told you to get rid of a beer you drank it and put it in the trash can. No problem. Well this mother f*ucker smacked the bottle from my face. Thats as close as I've come to killing a man. I was restrained by my buds. That little Don Knotts cocksucker was lucky. /Happiest place on earth my ass. //second time did shrooms. ///I was in my happy place |

| Coelacanth The only time I was ever at Disneyland was by myself in the late 1970s. It was a nice day to run around a theme park. But I was there with about 25 million nearly identical Japanese businessmen each loaded down with cameras. I have a gut feeling that I am probably the most photographed Gaijin in history. |

Any other former Cast Members on Fark? Did the Pirates/Haunted Mansion/Jungle Cruise rotation for two years. Prime ride ops job, if there was one. It was somewhat distressing how many kids (eight to twelve years old) were basically dropped off at the Park and left to the cast members to babysit. A few would spend my entire shift on my Jungle Cruise boat with me. /NCSB |

That sounds too good to be true. Was that a factual statement? |
