I really hope the upcoming Monsters Inc. sequel and this Nemo sequel are good, they were almost-perfect movies the first time around. However, despite Cars 2, I still have faith that they'll find a way to make them fun.

I liked Cars 2. It wasn't great, but it was a fun kids movie. First Cars wasn't all that great either.

I'm hoping Subby is joking that the public is like Dory instead of saying we all forgot it was bad.
Because if that's the case, I'd be so mad that I'd dress up as subby, look at myself in the mirror and punch me in the face.

Pixar sequels are greenlit depending on sales of merchandise. Incredibles didn't sell very much merchandise. Cars sold the most with the diecast toys, followed by Toy Story. Nemo did well with books and other licensing (backpacks, lunchboxes, bathtoys) and has the best selling DVD of all time.

"Up" should not have a sequel. It was absolutely perfect the way it was. There is no way the second one will have the same emotional impact. They should just leave it alone.

Imagine how bad and awkward it would have been if anyone had ever made sequels to 'The Blues Brothers', 'Caddyshack', or 'Highlander'. *shudder*

I don't know, if they stuck with all the same writers and other behind the scenes people I bet it would be awesome. You aren't curious about the baby? I agree with your sentiment though. The first one is damn near perfect with the rise of the villain, the story line, etc....it would be very difficult to top it.

Agreed 100%. I don't really see where an "Up" sequel could go (wouldn't the old guy be dead by now?). Wall-E has all kinds of potential.

Wall-E I don't think needs one, although I can see where there are story potentials. Nemo was as much the setting as the story, and as such it's a perfectly fine vehicle for more stories. It would be up to Pixar to make them as worth watching, but that's why they're Pixar. The Incredibles....it's a great world, but it'd have to be an AMAZING story to carry on from the original, it said almost everything that needed to be said about that whole world. Monster's Inc, like Nemo was half the setting, and I have high hopes.

Also, the 'Hi, I'm Dory' people in here made me smile a lot.

He wasn't talking about "Finding Nemo," he was referring to Andrew Stanton bombing on "John Carter" and the short-term memory people have about that debacle of a movie.

"The Incredibles" is the best Pixar movie by a country mile. Nothing else they've made comes close.


And "WALL-E" is just crap. So is "Up". I swear, people will put up with the most cliched, sentimental crap if it's animated.

Just so you know, your list is wrong.

The Incredibles is the only film in the stable that could have a sequel that makes some sense.
All the others are closed instances in time. (for the characters)

Wall-E could go somewhere, but it'd be nothing like the 1st film. So much so, that it'd probably be rejected.

The whole point of his character was the realization that they got so involved with growing up that they forgot to go on the adventure they both wanted

Can't they just steal a bunch of Lee/Kirby Fantastic 4 comics and use a storyline there? The Incredibles basically are the 4 (powers wise) after all,

Elastigirl is Mr. Fantastic
Mr Incredible is The Thing
Violet is Invisible Women
Dash is the closest to Human Torch they could do in an ostensibly kids movie (beats H.E.R.B.I.E.)
And judging by the short on the DVD, Baby Jack-Jack is basically Franklin Richards

I'm sure Pixar could do a better Surfer/Galactus analog than a farking cloud too.
