She wasn't allowed to do anything about it until the mastiff succeeded. Zoning ordinances don't allow house rabbits, and even mandate that outdoor rabbit hutches must have an open mesh screen bottom elevated at least three feet off the ground, which any determined dog can easily tear open, no matter what the rest of the hutch is made of.

/moral of this story: don't own rabbits as pets, or even as work animals, in Australia

Yup. And it sure as hell is the dog owners' fault. The dog is just doing what it was evolved to do. It's the dog owner who failed in his responsibility to control his own animal who is 100% at fault here.

She has no excuse to be upset with anyone but herself. Since she caught this dog once before she should have taken steps to ensure the safety of her props.

I heard squeaking and went into my garden to find a huge white mastiff shaking my guinea pig in its mouth.

I love dogs, and I'm very much against animal cruelty.

But when someone or something is eating your pets raw, I don't really see any harm in putting that creature down.

Yeah, I'm very protective of my animals. I have 4 cats and 2 dogs that are about cat sized. All of them were rescued from awful situations. I am not about to let some stray animal harass them let alone attack them.

Did I mention that I am a sane, compassionate person who could easily determine that a dachshund does not need to be killed to control the situation. Plus, my cats could kill a dachshund. However I do hope Mircea Volosen dies on fire, what a depraved biatch.

It seems that if your animals are in danger you are within your rights to kill the dog. It's just hard to prove that a dachshund is a danger to your animals and needs to be killed. IMHO the lab was probably fine too. I wouldn't be surprised (from what I know of the breed) if it was a fox that did the damage and the lab was wrong place wrong time.

Apparently you don't know that dachsunds were bred to hunt and kill badgers, and become highly aggressive in pursuit of any prey, whether badger, chicken, or even rabbit.

/also you don't know if the situation could have been controlled any better once the dog was not only on the property but had forced its way into the coop and was pursuing the chickens, since you weren't there

Um, you said I'd probably go to jail for killing a dog in defence of my animals. I used your link to prove you wrong. I then gave an opinion about the Lab story. That a dachshund can hunt badger is meaningless to a 230lb human. I could have removed the dachshund without killing it.

For the record, Tatterdemalian, when someone starts a statement with "I wouldn't be surprised if", they are usually not saying something didn't happen. They are saying they could easily believe another story about what happened.

This clown (literally, the tard was dressed like a clown, WTF) walks into my manager's meeting and he starts going on about this and that and then he makes a pencil disappear. The dumbass didn't even make it disappear, you could still see it hanging out of my ex-partner's eye socket.

Heh. Mine, admittedly was a big pussy, never bit anyone. Honestly the first thing I'd try to do with a rampaging dachshund, is try to get a trash can on top of it. Then I'd sit on the can till someone came and got the beast. At heart, I'm just like my dachshund was, a big pussy that would rather not kill anything, makes a ton of noise and constantly farks with people. All that aside, I don't have much experience with clowns but clown porn is some of the saddest shiat I've ever seen. I assume random eye stabbings could make it more watchable, not like it was fap material in the first place.
