FTFA: Research has suggested that exposing infants to videos can lead to sleep disturbances, attention problems, delayed language development as well as future obesity, according to the advocacy group. So the TV did it? The article and the advocacy groups web site left me with more questions than answers. /raised by tv set, what did you expect |

I've always wanted to make my own "Your Child Is A Loser" videos, designed to help parents set low expectations. |

Of they are a scam. If your kid could really read at 9 months the first thing you'd do is show it the following cards: Stop shiatting In Your Pants But since they didn't say it was a potty training aid, they are farking liars. |

Why would you want your kid to say that? Personally I would like: Show me your tits /you know, for when the baby is hungry... |

| marius2 I did laugh at the "obesity" part :P "This stuff is pseudoscience! It doesn't work...and....and...it will make you fat." |

marius2: I did laugh at the "obesity" part :P "This stuff is pseudoscience! It doesn't work...and....and...it will make you fat." I think for most parents, "makes your kid fat" would be a bigger deterrent than "it doesn't work". |

Doesn't matter, I will still buy and sell any copies of their product I can get (at $2 bucks a pop). Especiall if it's in the original shrink wrap. I sell bibles, anti-vax books, 9/11 truther books, vegetarian cookbooks and Mein Kampf. Selling parents something that's supposed to teach the brats to read is a minor sin in comparison. |

i always thought the videos were for parents to watch and make their own flashcards to show to kids, a 'how to teach your kids to read kind' of video. i never thought they were for the kids to watch. oh well, a study said that children watching videos could make them fat and cause sleep disturbance. no mention of what KIND of video but im sure ones of babies sitting on couches and chairs looking at cards will do that to babies that cant walk yet. /talk about psuedoscience |

If you sat with your kid(s) and actually use the books and flashcards, that helps more than anything on DVD. If you just plop them down in front of the videos for hours at a time, hoping the kids will mystically be able to read by the end of the day/week/month, you're in for a rough time and a round baby. /still less annoying than Dora by a long shot. //[Map voice]: "Spend time with your kids", "Shut off the TV more often than not", "Set an example, read to your kids!" Say it with ME! ///Off to watch Phineas and Ferb |
