Annoyance: MBooda: What is "Summer" in Buffalo? I thought they only had two seasons there, winter and the fourth of July. /will be at Niagara Falls in a week or so, and yes I've been looking at the weather forecasts Actually, the two seasons are Winter and Road construction. Niagara falls should be nice, FTFY (been there, long ago) (BTW I stand corrected. There are THREE seasons in Buffalo: Fourth of July, BillsFail, and BillsRebuilding) |

I particularly like the second line - "Relax at the Riv" VERY important to relax at the AnalFest! Is the "Dwyer's Iris" next door some sort of code for brown eye? No Colonel Angus yet? I'm shocked! "...to conquer the scorching, 85-degree weather." It's not the heat, it's the humidity. |

Professor Science: As for pizza, I'd suggest exploring the menu at Just Pizza. Some of their more unusual-looking options are really damn good (old Italian sauce pie and stuffed hot pepper come to mind). I still haven't found anywhere around here that does simple pizza really well. We're a wing town. Pizza is just a convenient side dish. MBooda: What is "Summer" in Buffalo? This past winter was really mild and dry, so the weather shouldn't be too bad. I can't remember the last time we had more than a few minutes of rain. |

Professor Science: Dack48: I used to live in Buffalo. Finding good pizza is next to damn impossible because of those grease-wells you call pepperoni. Try Santora's in the suburbs. Their pizza and calzones were the best! Dafuq?! Santora's (the one near UB's north campus, anyway) is the standard bottom-of-the-barrel crap that professors use to feed grad students during exam grading, and its only virtue is its price. Don't bother with their wings, either. Google tells me there's another one on Transit; maybe that one sucks less. As for pizza, I'd suggest exploring the menu at Just Pizza. I still haven't found anywhere around here that does simple pizza really well. I was refering to Santoras 2, on Transit Road. Didn't know that there was one near UB. Just Pizza is okay, I guess, but they also have the grease well pepperonis of death. |

I thought they only had two seasons there, winter and the fourth of July. /will be at Niagara Falls in a week or so, and yes I've been looking at the weather forecasts If you want something cooler than the tourist traps, I always recommend the Niagara Gorge trail. The 200+ feet of stairs to get down to it keeps the crowds fairly thin, and the upstream end of it runs right along the huge rapids and past the giant whirlpool. Take a camera and lots of water (and since your profile says you're a geocacher, take a GPS and the coordinates of the three or four caches along that stretch of trail). It's an awesome way to kill an afternoon (and possibly your feet and knees, if you're an out-of-shape fatass like me). I understand there's also a trail along the Canadian side, but I have yet to hit that one. |

YodaBlues: Fellow Buffalonian?!? Tell me friend, as a transplant, where can a guy get some decent pizza? /Moved here 2 years ago, first to Elmwood, now living in Amherst. //Love the Summer Festivals. I like Bocci's, but their sauce is kind of on the sweeter side. If you're curious, though, they're worth a try. |

Tell me friend, as a transplant, where can a guy get some decent pizza? /Moved here 2 years ago, first to Elmwood, now living in Amherst. //Love the Summer Festivals. Amherst, eh? La Nova is alright. Amherst Pizza & Alehouse is also okay. Be aware, though, nobody in Buffalo gets pizza for the pizza. They get pizza as a side dish for the wings. If you live in Amherst, you're near a Duff's (either on Sheridan or the one in Cheektowaga, I think) and they have the best wings in Buffalo, bar none. Just Pizza has the best varieties of pizza though. You, sir, must not have been to Bar-Bill's in East Aurora. That joint ruined me from any other wings, ever. Check it out on Tuesday nights, they have 2-for-1. (Word of warning: their suicide wings are imported daily from the deepest circles of Hell) Seconded on Just Pizza, though. Their crust is somethin' else. |

PsiChi: anybody seen this story? speaking of analfest leads to a birth certificate story? lol First: nobody cares about the whole birth certificate thing. Second: this clearly isn't the place to discuss it, as it is about a festival in NY and a funny sign. Thrid: speaking of analfest, what about the whole nasa faking the moonlandings? like someone else said, GTFO. you're almost as bad as the creationist that shows up in the jesus threads. |

PsiChi: Speaking of "AnalFest," anybody seen this story? PHOENIX (AP) - Investigators for an Arizona sheriff's volunteer posse have declared that President Barack Obama's birth certificate is definitely fraudulent. Members of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's posse said in March that there was probable cause that Obama's long-form birth certificate released by the White House in April 2011 was a computer-generated forgery. Now, Arpaio says investigators are positive it's fraudulent. Mike Zullo, the posse's chief investigator, said numeric codes on certain parts of the birth certificate indicate that those parts weren't filled out, yet those sections asking for the race of Obama's father and his field of work or study were completed. Zullo said investigators previously didn't know the meaning of codes but they were explained by a 95-year-old former state worker who signed the president's birth certificate. Zullo said a writer who published a book about Obama's birth certificate and was aiding investigators let them listen in on an interview he conducted of the former state worker. {SNIP} Link Why are you farkers willing to look the other way on this? I thought honesty and integrity were two of your most cherished characteristics... Are you a farking moron or just a stupid idiot? This is evidently the thread you meant to post in. Link |

Not too far from me, there is a "Canal" street, and pranksters were notorious for scraping the "C" off the sign because it would take days for the city to come out and repair it. To combat the problem, they installed this super tall post that the signs sit on, but it's so far up, people don't see it and get lost looking for the street. |

My dad coached womens softball when I was a kid, the teams were named after their sponsor, one team was sponsored by "Canal Town Candies." which was on the front of their shirts. When the ladies put their arms at their sides it would cover up some of the letters and read "Anal Tow Andi." |

Buffalo Pizza - I like Just Pizza for ordering a whole pie, LaNova for stopping in and getting a slice. Avoid Zetti's on Elmwood like the plague. A few places on Hertel are supposed to be pretty good but I've never been. See you at Anal Fest! p.s. I get that you don't like pepperoni but why don't you just order your pizza with something else? |
