FTA: "They are pretty crazy, though: Hulk Hogan as Mr. Freeze?" That's somehow more outlandish than Arnold? |

Damn skippy subby! |
||
| Fano Camryn Mannheim as Joker? I heard it on fark. Then again, Tennant as Riddler and Fairuza Balk as Harley Quinn would be locks, if only Hollywood would make it so. |
||
| Nana's Vibrator Robin Williams takes a beating in this article. But he did have the last laugh. He landed the coveted role in Death to Smoochie. Which was essentially the same movie as Batman and Robin: 2 hours of people dressed up in costumes who make me want to stab myself |
||
| John Buck 41 Headline is confusing. Keaton was better. Or is that the joke? |
||
| slayer199 I don't know...they were 2 totally different Batmans. I enjoyed Keaton as Batman (at the time, it was a huge departure for him) but Jack Nicholson owned the first movie. I also like Bale's turn as Batman...very intense. |

Keaton's Batman was bemused. Bale's Batman is angry. Neither is menacing or intelligent. |
||
| degenerate-afro In before the cult of the one true Batman (Kevin Conroy). Only live action Batman need apply. Thus Adam West is the best Batman. |

I never thought Keaton was a good choice for Batman. Simply didn't have the look or physique for the role. |

| Teufelaffe Nana's Vibrator: Robin Williams takes a beating in this article. But he did have the last laugh. He landed the coveted role in Death to Smoochie. Which was essentially the same movie as Batman and Robin: 2 hours of people dressed up in costumes who make me want to stab myself That's not a fair comparison. Death to Smoochie was a much better film. Batman and Robin is in running with The Quest for the coveted title of Worst Movie Ever Made That Isn't Manos: Hands of Fate or Plan 9 From Outer Space. |
||
| AnotherBluesStringer I really wish Nolan would have made one movie where Batman was a detective. |
||
| oldfarthenry Isn't it the villain who shines in any Batman flick? A cedar post could be playing the dark knight for all the audience cares. |

I remember all the WHAAA? when Keaton was announced as Batman. I feel old. |

Michael Keaton started a rumor ![]() She touched his pepe, Steve. |

AnotherBluesStringer: I really wish Nolan would have made one movie where Batman was a detective. Yeah, and how come he's not a scientist, either? I mean, in Batman Begins, we see all those years that explained how Bruce Wayne was able to become physically prepared to become a superhero by relentlessly training with the League of Shadows, but after he left Nepal they should have shown him getting several advanced degrees from prestigious colleges... because Batman IS a scientist! (Chill out, man, you can only do so much in movies before it gets ludicrous.) |

| Fano Teufelaffe: Nana's Vibrator: Robin Williams takes a beating in this article. Death to Smoochie is a pretty original film and underrated in my opinion. Williams was great as a crooked kid's show host. And oh lord, a Robin Williams Joker would have been beyond terrible. He would have had permission to go more over the top than he has gone in his long career of going over the top. He CAN be a great villain when restrained. |

| RexTalionis Bale is the far superior Bruce Wayne. Keaton is a better Batman. |

I'm confused. Why would someone who is distraut over not being cast as Vicki Vale, storm the set in a homemade Catwoman costume to prove she is the better choice to be Vicki Vale? That rumor doesn't even make sense. |

I heard a rumor that actual adults will stop displaying regressive behavior, give up reading childrens' comic books, and stop shiatting up the internet with their senseless prattling about that activity. |

AnotherBluesStringer: I really wish Nolan would have made one movie where Batman was a detective. I wish any live action director would do that, Burton, Nolan or even Schumacher. |

Tim Burton did his Batman as the highly stylized comic book style. Nicholson was over the top as The Joker. The set design was just amazing. The new Batman flicks do it as a realistic, this-could-actually-happen type of thing. So I can't see how you can compare and contrast the two, as they both stand on their own merits. |

DarkPascual: While I think that Keaton is a (slightly) better Batman, Bale is a better Bruce Wayne, in my opinion... I think you have that exactly backwards. But then We all know what opinions are like. Worse live-action Batman, Kilmer or Clooney? |
||
| zarberg
LucklessWonder: Worse live-action Batman, Kilmer or Clooney? It's hard to pick, partly because those movies were both so bad and partly because I've loved both of them in other roles. Seriously, I think I had a gay crush on Chris Knight. |

You know who'd be a damn awesome Bruce Wayne? John Hamm that's who. |

I would say Kilmer was better as the Batman, but Clooney probably pulled off Bruce Wayne better. |

Jeremysbrain: I'm confused. Why would someone who is distraut over not being cast as Vicki Vale, storm the set in a homemade Catwoman costume to prove she is the better choice to be Vicki Vale? That rumor doesn't even make sense. What are you dense? Are you retarded or something? She was distraught for not being able to do Vicki Vale due to an accident (she was actually cast for the role) so when the next movie came around and she wasn't cast, she dressed as the goddamn Catwoman to show she could be in this movie. She just wanted to be part of one of the hottest franchise on the planet and the benefits it entails. |

I recently watched the first Burton Batman film and I have to say.....it doesn't hold up. Keaton=bad, Nicholson=bad. The Nolan films are light years better |
||

I wanted to love Death to Smoochie - it came out before the Robin Williams backlash and during a time when Edward Norton was unable to make a bad film. I'd have thought they could do sock puppet theater in my backyard and it would have gotten Oscar buzz. Reminds me of the reaction to Jim Carey/Cable Guy. I can rewatch it, but it doesn't have the same effect as their previous work. I can say this: Batman and Robin is what caused me to not care about Batman Begins and not see it until someone shoved their DVD into my hands and made me watch it. I made no distinction and figured BB would be just as bad. |

The new Batman flicks do it as a realistic, this-could-actually-happen type of thing. So I can't see how you can compare and contrast the two, as they both stand on their own merits. I found the set design of the 89 Batman movie to be really bad. Everything looks like it is indoors, even when they are supposed to be on the streets and all the buildings look like they are constructed of wood and styrofoam. As far as Nicholson goes, I wouldn't say he was over the top just really bad and super scenery chewing. Plus he was playing pretty much the same character he plays in a lot of other movies. I mean slap some white face paint on his character from The Shining or better yet The Departed and it is basically The Joker all over again |

| EyeballKid HotIgneous Intruder: I heard a rumor that actual adults will stop displaying regressive behavior, give up reading childrens' comic books, and stop shiatting up the internet with their senseless prattling about that activity. It's a good thing you popped in and put that rumor to rest. Apparently, even those allegedly above these children's books can still stoop to senseless prattling. Way to break through that glass ceiling, chief. |

Did you all know know that Burton was looking at Ceasar Romero as the Joker for the first reboot batman movie? |

Keaton's major method of beating crooks appears to be "stand there and let them shoot me, thus knocking me down. Then I get up and pummel them." He didn't appear to have much mobility in that get up. |

I had leaned towards Balk as Harley Quinn, but Sherri Moon Zombie already knows how to play a cute as a button psychopathic killer with a heart of gold, so I think she could pull off Quinn. |
