Dear Subtard,

You are probably a wonderful person.

But your use of the Ironic tag deserves a lightning strike to the crotch.

Love, Alanis

Wow, unphased weatherman is unphased! I've seen reporters drop the ball for a lot less interruption than that.

What is it about TV anchors that make them act so weird and uncomfortable whenever something unexpected happens? I think it has to do with their personalities -- after all these are people that WANT the spotlight, the hair, makeup, robotic attitudes, and big phony smiles. I think there's something psychological related to how they have no idea what to do when it's time to improvise, or just appear human for once.

Good show, remained professional, didn't scream like a biatch, didn't complain. He just went on with the report, not even knowing if anyone was receiving the signal. Worthy of a little bump in pay, a bonus, or maybe a bit of vacation for being reliable and steady when shiat hits the fan.

I predicted the Cubs would win yesterday, and they ended up winning. Oh the irony. It was so ironic. That's some irony right there. Yessir.

I went to Subway to get a turkey footlong for lunch, and ironically it happened to be on the $5 dollar menu today! Sweet, delicious irony.

I came into this thread expecting to read about an ironic situation and found out that lots of people were talking about irony. That's pretty ironic.

I find it ironic that everyone comes down hard on the misuse of irony but "unphased" gets a hall pass.

It's "unfazed". Learn it, know it, live it.

The lightning rod might have been ironic.

// That is double irony, subby. It went right over their heads.

It would have been Ironic if he was predicting beautiful sunny skies.

"I don't know if you hear me at home, I don't know if you SEE me at home."

Now that is some awful, awful forecasting.

Stop talking about "I don't know if you can hear me or see me" you Tool. Just keep talking and the rest of the station will catch up to you.

\this is the reason we *never* put an off-air feed in the studio for "talent" to look at
\\cause when the transmitter trips off, they stare at the screen and pick their noses
\\\for the pleasure of the cable, Dish and DirectTV audience

Maybe if they reversed the polarity of the Tachyon emitter and re-routed it through the navigational array, they would get the light back on, and be in temporal phase again.

Ironically, the weatherman's feed briefly experience phase jitter. I mean ya gotta admit, that's really ironic.

So the station has their multiple big-screen TVs hooked up to their emergency backup power, but not their lights? Interesting priorities.

No. The lights take minutes to come back on. The LCD screens take seconds. Given the power draw of the lights, it is probably prohibitively expensive to put them on UPS, but the production gear was.

That is why the broadcast continues right away, the screens come back in seconds, the audio gear rebooted but that only took about 10 seconds, the lights probably came back soon after the clip ended.
