As mentioned in the Jalopnik article with the same headline earlier in the week, this actually took place in.... ready? Texas. |
||
| factoryconnection Land Ark: Texas. Had the bumper or back window of the pickup been clearly visible, it would have been much easier to figure that out. |
||
| redsquid But... but... this doesn't reinforce the stereotypes I've grown acustomed to. |
||
| cretinbob Land Ark: Texas They didn't sound Canadian to me. Please note that this is obviously an experienced, alert bike rider and a typical car driver. If the guy on the bike hadn't been paying attention, he'd have been seriously injured. |
||

To be fair, this probably IS how Canadians deal with road rage, eh? |

[www.bajones.net image 414x108] It is quite possible that he shouldn't be exceeding a speed that is unsafe to stop soundly within a certain amount of space. Like the law says. |

Farking predictable... A normal everyday occurance is totally dismissed as myth. But governor dipshiat opens his mouth, and that obviously is how ALL residents of Texas think. |
||
| LeroyBourne
I'm sure if there was some damage to the truck it would have unfolded very differently. |

Having driven into Montreal just this morning, I'll have to assume the stereotype of polite and thoughtful drivers who share the road applies to Canadians, not Canadiens. |
||
| KarmicDisaster Why, do they use the "eh" word? |

However only some Quebecois are awesome, there are a few that are jerks. /Got to listen to an angry Quebec pilot yelling at Kamloops FIC because they didn't want to talk to him in French. |

The exception to this rule is cab drivers. Cab drivers in Canada can, and do, turn anyone into cauldrons of frothy rage. //A cab driver just got punched outside of my building like 10 minutes ago. ///My building IN CANADA ///CSB |

I have lived in Texas my whole life. With the exception of driving in Dallas, Houston or Austin, this behavior is actually typical. Not trolling, its true. Yall have a nice day now |
||
| HotWingAgenda
I've lived all over, and for no apparent reason, everyone I've ever seen with Texas plates outside Texas was safe and courteous on the road, in all weather conditions. I have no clue why, but Texans are the best drivers in the country. Although, I've never witnessed them driving inside their own state. |

Now assuming the biker had smoked his way into the truck and smeared his way across 50 *METERS* of roadway... His medical fees would be 100% covered thanks to our SOCIALIST MEDICAL SYSTEM. /suck it usa! |

The last accident I got into was at around 5:30 am on a dirt road in BC, Canada. The truck ahead of me saw a moose (hunting season) and threw it in reverse to get a better look at the bull. Unfortunately, I happened to be right behind him and also staring at the moose. He backed right into my front bumper.. I had no insurance at the time.. not even a valid driver's license. Needless to say, I could have been in a world of shiat. The guy jumped out and apologized, we talked about the bull we saw.. drank some coffee. Apologized to each other again and went on our way. |
||
| bingethinker The "new Canadian" road rage. Some douchebag was tailgating me, so I moved over into the next lane and waved a finger at him as he shot past me. Next thing I hear is a piss-drink guy with a heavy Arab accent screaming, "Why you give me the finger, asshole? Why you give me the finger?" /welcome to the first world, loser |

ShaggyS3284: I have lived in Texas my whole life. With the exception of driving in Dallas, Houston or Austin, this behavior is actually typical. Not trolling, its true. Yall have a nice day now (CSB) I went through Houston in the most farked up traffic I've ever seen. It took about 2 hours to travel 8 miles. A main accident jacked up everything and closed three lanes. I thought round robin merging was the universal nod of respect. If so, Houston hasn't heard of it. On two separate occasions, a driver forced the merge, stood on the gas pedal while giving the world the finger, and drove straight into another accident. It was waves of jacked up. It's not just Houston. All 2500 miles of I-10 sucks ass. 40 is better but passes through Arkansas. Not sure which route wins in that dueling banjo of hells. |

[www.bajones.net image 414x108] It is quite possible that he shouldn't be exceeding a speed that is unsafe to stop soundly within a certain amount of space. Like the law says. Rubbish. If I decide to go out on the road in an inherently unsafe vehicle that you could fit three of in most cars' blind spots, then it's the drivers of those cars who need to be extra-careful for my safety. MOTORCYCLES ARE EVERYWHERE!!!11!! |

So, he stopped in the middle of this 5-lane highway, threw it in reverse, and backed up a few hundred feet so he could take the exit. |

Texans are hands down the nicest drivers I've ever seen. Several times, I actually saw a Texan who was driving slowly pull over onto the shoulder to let someone pass them. I was blow away. Y'all have some means Cops though. Being white, friendly and having a clean record not get me a "get out of a ticket pass" like it does up here. |
