You could do the same thing with sand and it'd be even cheaper.

I'll go dump a few pounds of NaCl on one half of your garden and a few pounds of H20 on the other half and test that theory.

Went to the website - only $30. Was expecting it to be more.

I like how the guy stated he travelled back and forth to China for "rigorous testing", and that there are several "patents pending". Yah. I'm sure the Chinese will respect his rights in this matter and not totally make cheap knockoffs sometime in the near future.

Well, that would attract more flies, which means more targets. Win-win for you, the flies, no so much.

Proving the point that your first statement that they're equally safe is nonsense. Also bonus points for childishness.

But then you'd hav to clean and season your kill before eating.

And just a few years ago, I thought the electrified bug zapper-in-a-tennis-racket was the pinnacle of insect management technologies! This thing looks awesome.

However, the more important concern....can it kill a wasp in one shot? Because I think that's all you'd get.

Once woke up to a buzzing sound, found a freakin' huge hornet hovering a foot from my nose, and if you're wondering if a dude with lots of gray hair can still do a lightning fast combat roll out of bed, yes, yes he can. I would have loved to have come up blasting with one of these, but yes I think we need more firepower. Perhaps an electric-powered minigun version firing 3,000 salt blasts per second?

Dihydrogen monoxide is easily -- or at least statistically -- the most dangerous chemical on the planet.

It looks great, but I'd love a much smaller version of it. Also a full-auto version. And an optional launcher that can handle a standard Morton shell.

What a fun way to add salt to your bucket of popcorn. I see no issues with this at all.

Awesome. So I find a fly about to land on my food, shoot it with this thing, and get both a dead fly in my food and extra sodium in my diet. What a wonderful idea. And those flies looked totally dead and not just stunned or anything... totally.

Can't wait for the Olive Garden to start issuing this to waitresses, though. Would you like some pepper on your microwaved pasta? BLAM!

1. A bug killing gun, comprising: a compressed gas source, a chamber, said chamber fluidly connected to said compressed gas source; a barrel, said barrel disposed at a distal end of said chamber; a compressed gas release mechanism, said release mechanism connected to said compressed gas source; a projectile storage magazine, said magazine storing particulate projectiles and being disposed adjacent said chamber; a projectile loading mechanism, said loading mechanism moving said particulate projectiles into said chamber from said magazine; a cocking mechanism mechanically connecting said compressed gas source, said compressed gas release mechanism, and said projectile loading mechanism; a stock, said stock housing and supporting said compressed gas source, said compressed gas release mechanism, said barrel, said chamber, said projectile storage magazine, said cocking mechanism and said projectile loading mechanism; wherein, when said gun is cocked by said cocking mechanism, said projectile loading mechanism gathers a predetermined quantity of said particulate projectiles and positions said projectiles in said chamber; and when said compressed gas release mechanism is activated said projectiles are ejected from said chamber into said barrel and expelled from said gun.

and so on...

Would the salt gun kill the hornet or just make it hopping mad?

The drawing board at the end showed plans for a Cock Gun, does that mean it shoots cocks or that it shoots cocks?

Salt again? What is it with the salt? Am I supposed to keep this handy for the Zombie Slug Invasions of 2012?

I can hear this guy's wife/girlfriend: "Dear, why is there salt allover everything? Are you going to vacuum this up? Not while it's on my arm asshole!"

/and so on

A pinch of parakeet gravel down the barrel of an old crosman always worked for me. About 3 pumps would put most of the fly through the screen-door without jacking up the screen too much.

It will take down yellowjackets. Never tried hornets.
