The Watchmen wasn't perfect, but it could easily replace several of those on the list. |
| SilentStrider Was not expecting number 2 to be there, but tough to argue with their logic. Not a bad list. |
| imapirate TDKR isn't on the list. FAIL. |

It's easy to argue with Batman Returns. Your mileage may vary. SilentStrider: Was not expecting number 2 to be there, but tough to argue with their logic. Not a bad list. Agreed. Solid list, all in all. Nifty to see The Incredibles on there. imapirate: TDKR isn't on the list. FAIL. Also, this. I can see their point for not including it because it's a brand-new release, but... hot damn, that movie rocked. |
| Hoban Washburne imapirate: TDKR isn't on the list. FAIL. I'd give them the benefit of the doubt of not doubling up on two films in the same series/franchise, but they have Batman AND farking Batman Returns on there? Come on. I still haven't seen TDKR, but Batman Begins is a better movie than both of those (especially Batman Returns). |
| simplicimus MeinRS6: The Watchmen wasn't perfect, but it could easily replace several of those on the list. I agree. Not perfect, but a real good adaptation considering the sheer bulk of source material to work with. Wouldn't put Batman Returns on the list, suffers from too-many villains sequel syndrome. |

I'd probably replace Batman Returns with Watchmen, sure. The 1989 Batman is fine, fun to watch, and should be on the list. I don't really get that with Batman Returns. Again, mileages and whatnot. |
| The English Major Toshiro Mifune's Letter Opener: It's easy to argue with Batman Returns. Your mileage may vary. I still remember as a child being really sad when The Penguin died and was buried at sea by his penguin minions. |

The English Major: I still remember as a child being really sad when The Penguin died and was buried at sea by his penguin minions. I remember thinking "Man, this is really messed up" as a child. That, and Batman's mask apparently being made of Fruit Roll-Ups. |
| Snarcoleptic_Hoosier I was not a fan of "The Dark Knight". There are good scenes, but the whole movie seemed forced. /List fails without Batman & Robin - a movie that sucked so bad it bent space time around and because cool |
| Hoban Washburne Toshiro Mifune's Letter Opener: The 1989 Batman is fine, fun to watch, and should be on the list. I don't really get that with Batman Returns. Again, mileages and whatnot. Right, I have no problem including 1989 Batman, but if you're going to have TWO superhero (let alone Batman) movies from the same series, Batman Returns would absolutely not be the one I included. |
| JerseyTim I really disagree with the praise for X2. Problems I had with the film: The Stryker character is really lame. There is a lot of bad dialogue, especially from Stryker and from Pyro ("You know all those dangerous mutants you hear about in the news? I'm the worst one.") They take the most compelling character, Professor X, and they basically hypnotize him and remove him for half the movie. I would substitute First Class for X2. |
| simplicimus First Class was actually pretty good. My only nit-pick is calling the dragonfly fire-spitting woman Angel. |
| Toshiro Mifune's Letter Opener
Snarcoleptic_Hoosier: /List fails without Batman & Robin - a movie that sucked so bad it bent space time around and because cool You had to love the line: "What killed the dinosaurs? ... DA ICE AAAAAAAAGE!" All the more better with RiffTrax. Hoban Washburne: Right, I have no problem including 1989 Batman, but if you're going to have TWO superhero (let alone Batman) movies from the same series, Batman Returns would absolutely not be the one I included. Agreed. Or at least replace it with the Adam West one for pure camp goodness. |

Really? Spider Man 2 was without a doubt the worst superhero movie I've ever seen, and I watched Wolverine. |
| Mentat Wait, I thought there was a sequel to X2... |
| The English Major Toshiro Mifune's Letter Opener: I remember thinking "Man, this is really messed up" as a child. In the theater, I think I said something like "Oh, they're doing that because he was one of their pack." People around me were staring. And yeah, I forgot about the mask part. The two Keaton films and the two Nolan films are the only live-action Batman films I own. I was pleased to see The Incredibles on the list, though. It was the first Pixar film I'd ever seen. |
| WhoIsWillo Mentat: Wait, I thought there was a sequel to X2... I think they meant a Singer directed sequel that was made by the original team. Also, let us never talk of X-Men 3 again. |
| simplicimus Mentat: Wait, I thought there was a sequel to X2... I think they were planning one around the Phoenix story, but nothing ever came of it. |
| DamnYankees Toshiro Mifune's Letter Opener: It's easy to argue with Batman Returns. Your mileage may vary. I would honestly put all three Nolan batman films on that list. |

The two Keaton films and the two Nolan films are the only live-action Batman films I own. The only thing that disturbed me about the 1989 Batman movie was concluding the ending credits with Prince's "Scandalous." That said, I will defend the crap out of "Partyman." The English Major: I was pleased to see The Incredibles on the list, though. It was the first Pixar film I'd ever seen. I can't remember which one I saw first... maybe Toy Story, maybe A Bug's Life. The Incredibles is pretty damn good, though. |

DamnYankees: I would honestly put all three Nolan batman films on that list. I'd have no problem with that. It's a great trilogy all across the board. simplicimus: Mentat: Wait, I thought there was a sequel to X2... I think they were planning one around the Phoenix story, but nothing ever came of it. From what I understand, the original plans were to make the third movie something of an all-hell-breaks-out monster flick with Dark Phoenix battling the X-Men, the Brotherhood of Mutants, and Sebastian Shaw's crew. Then things promptly went to hell. |
| Hoban Washburne simplicimus: Mentat: Wait, I thought there was a sequel to X2... I think they were planning one around the Phoenix story, but nothing ever came of it. Yeah, I think Singer went off to pursue some other project, but I don't know if anything ever came of that. There was talk of bringing in some hackneyed douchebag in to direct it, but luckily the studios realized how completely farking stupid that would be and just scrapped it. |
| thamike The Dark Knight wasn't a superhero movie. It was a supervillain movie, and it was perfect. |
| DamnYankees Here's my list: 10) Captain America 9) Batman 8) Batman Begins 7) X2 6) The Avengers 5) X-Men First Class 4) The Dark Knight Rises 3) Iron Man 2) Kick Ass 1) The Dark Knight Haven't seen: Superman movies. Didn't like: Spiderman movies Haven't seen in a long time so i can't judge: The Rocketeer |

| The English Major Toshiro Mifune's Letter Opener: I can't remember which one I saw first... maybe Toy Story, maybe A Bug's Life. I saw Toy Story for the first time in December of 2011, when my brother and his girlfriend bought us the Blu-Ray/DVD boxed set for Christmas because "we had to have them." So now I've seen all three. The only other Pixar flick I've seen is Wall-E. |

The first time I saw it, I wasn't really prepared for that so I was a bit ambivalent. Second time around I loved it much more when I took it on its own terms. |

But all the Farkers I have marked as having the same taste in movies as me have sung its praises so I'm excited. I wanted to wait till I got back to Houston Friday so I could watch it on IMAX but I can't wait so it will be in a theater that I suspect was once a feed store. |

| brigid_fitch I wouldn't have put The Dark Knight so high on the list or would have replaced it with TDKR. TDK annoyed the hell out of me because of Two-Face. That entire last half-hour just felt tacked-on. You had an amazing story w/Joker and even Harvey Dent. Adding Two-Face to the mix felt like it lessened the previous 2 hours. |

Warts and all, I love TDK, but I love TDKR about the same. There's a tradeoff involved with each one. For one, I love the Joker and anything he said/did in TDK, but his Rube Goldberg-esque shenanigans DID seem mildly implausible, even for a movie of this sort. For the other, I love the story and tone of TDKR, but Bane's voice kinda lost me in some scenes. It's a tradeoff, but I dig 'em a lot. alwaysjaded: I'm really looking forward to Nolan and Hardy's take on Bane and seeing Gotham fall into chaos. All I'll say is this: the trailers really don't give you any idea as to what to expect. I saw all three trailers, and I was very surprised and pleased with where the story went and what it accomplished. |

Bane's a good, solid villain and Anne Hathaway's Catwoman is spot-on from the late-80s Frank Miller reboot. |

| WhoIsWillo Toshiro Mifune's Letter Opener: And there's a lot more to it than that famous opening sequence. The scene where he goes through the photo album may be the single most touching scene in a film I've seen in the last decade, and I see a lot of movies. Every time I see Up it moves up a few places on my 'best all time' list. It's now my absolute favorite Pixar film, beating even Finding Nemo and Wall-E. |

He was really great in this one, but I think he might get a nod for the trilogy as a body of work. He's always sort of under the radar in these movies, but I think he's actually the most impressive of the actors in TDKR (though they are all fantastic, including JGL who gives a great performance of what could be an extremely tiresome character). |
