A lot of hate for metal in the metal thread. Been listening to the new Panopticon. Great stuff. Also still shopping around my album. Reception has been good but not sure if a label is going to take a chance on an American black metal album. It has hit some blogs so my own independent release is starting to spread. Verdunkeln's Weder Licht noch Schatten is some awesome black metal. You should listen to it.

Finnish death legends Purtenance have released a new EP that's pretty great. Speaking of classic death metal bands releasing new EPs after long periods of silence: New Rottrevore kicks ass. And again in that same mold, Derketa!

I'm near a sleeping newborn so I can't listen to anything, but look forward to hearing the new A Forest of Stars, Drudkh, Panopticon, and Burzum even though I didn't really like his last effort. I didn't know about those yet. Thanks.

I don't really have time to listen to new music as much as I'd like, but the new Baroness is pretty good. Also, Kylesa is in the studio, so I'm a little excited about that.

Because jazz musicians release the same album over and over;. Nobody notices because nobody actually listens to jazz, they just say they do to impress their friends and justify their turtlenecks in the summer.

Thanks for the Hades Archer and Kalas recs from a few weeks ago (you know who you are) - they were both in heavy rotation in my car for the past few weeks.

Kalas may have put out my favorite High on Fire album that wasn't theirs.

My only issue with Hades Archer was that the album was too damn short. For something that awesome you can't just leave me wanting more like that.
