If you are programming, sometimes you need to put a hex token in memory this is fairly unique and easy to remember. When the program is running, you do a search through the memory for your token and quickly find the section you need to monitor. Yeah, its crass, but it is a fairly unique 32 bit number that is easy to remember in hex. And its way funnier than 0xDEADBEEF.

The truly sad part is that the code doesn't say "big boobs," either - there's a hexadecimal number that, when interpreted by someone looking to be offended, could be interpreted as "0xbigboobs" and therefore Microsoft must apologize for a specific value in the hexadecimal system.

This is like forcing Texas Instruments to apologize for using the number 5318008 because, if typed on a typical calculator which is then inverted, it could be interpreted as "BOOBIES".

I can't wait to get back to work and discover that there's an entire batch of hexadecimal values that are now considered "off limits" as constants, because of the fear that some friggin' moron may interpret those values in a way that could be seen as sexist, bigoted, or otherwise insensitive.
