Would anyone be the slightest bit surprised to find out that Sandusky's rapes dated back farther than the 1998 report? I don't think boy rape is something you just pick up when you turn 60.

I keep coming back to that email where Curley, Spanier, and Schultz had agreed to notify various people. Then Paterno overrides them. To me that always seemed like Paterno pulling Curley aside and saying "Don't do anything that would make the authorities start digging here." After that Sandusky is left alone. Clearly there isn't any proof, but I have to think that Sandusky was a rapist before 1998 and used PSU facilities to rape the kids prior to 1998 as well.

One does not simply wake up one day and decide to abuse children when you are 60 years old. He likely started when he was 15 years old or so, sometime after his own father stopped abusing him because he "aged out", so to speak.

I wouldn't be surprised if his crimes go back to the early 60s when he was a player at Penn State.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Assistant Coach Joe Paterno discussed those crimes with him in his office in 1963, telling him he'd better stop tickling little boys or he'll have to spend an extra hour at practice all week.

That football program's rot began long before Paterno got the job as head coach.

I doubt it. The moment Sandusky gets into prison, there will be a bounty on his head within minutes: there are elements in prison who would fight tooth and claw to be known as the guy who got Jerry Sandusky. He will die screaming, and I can't find it in myself to care.

Obviously, that's the fault of everyone outside of Penn State, trying to throw Joe under the bus. The man is dead! He deserves a free pass for aiding & abetting decades of child rape because football!

I give it two months before a shift of guards suddenly catches freak simultaneous explosive diarrhea and make a mad dash together for an extra-long bathroom break.
