This is actually part of what I think needs to happen for the USA to not become a plutocracy in the next decade or so. 1) Full disclosure of every lobbyist contact with any politician. 2) No more private donations - every campaign is publicly funded. When every politician has a set amount to spend, money as easily determine the election. 3) No more full pension/healthcare for politicians - your pension/healthcare is commensurate based on time served 4) A moratorium of at least 5 years before a public servant can become a lobbyist or vice versa. |
