| WalkingCarpet Good for them. I hope Tarantino edits out all the shooting during the theater scene in Inglourious Basterds for future releases and showings on TV. In fact, they should start an exchange program where you can send in your Blu-ray if you bought it and get the sanitized version. Disgusting. |
||
| Diogenes Can we please establish some reasonable middle ground between "More guns would have prevented this!" and "Every citizen is going to require grief counseling because of this tragedy!"? |
||
| scottydoesntknow Wouldn't be the first time |
||
| Diogenes scottydoesntknow: Wouldn't be the first time [4.bp.blogspot.com image 500x336] Such an awesome trailer. I think I saved it to flash drive somewhere. |

| Nadie_AZ scottydoesntknow: Wouldn't be the first time [4.bp.blogspot.com image 500x336] I had 2 thoughts. This one and Johnny Dangerously. |

| Nadie_AZ Diogenes: Can we please establish some reasonable middle ground between "More guns would have prevented this!" and "Every citizen is going to require grief counseling because of this tragedy!"? I'm so glad I've avoided news stories on the fallout of this tragedy. Speaking of. I should play fallout 3 tonight. Wish I had a gaming rig ... |

And while we are at it the end of Fightclub should have been changed post 9/11. |

| Nadie_AZ Complicit: Nadie_AZ: Johnny Dangerously ??? Care to share the story? I knew about the Spider-man trailer. Oh. Sorry. It wasn't removed, but there's a scene when the 'bad guy' is behind the movie screen, cuts a slit in the screen and puts the gun through it to shoot a patron. But that was my first thought when I read the article. |

| robsul82 So farking lame. |

Movie still looks like shiat anyways. |
||
| Mugato Typical post 9/11 kneejerk reaction. Is Spielberg going to put the walkie talkies back into ET? Just move up the release date if you're so concerned. |

| Gig103 Diogenes: Such an awesome trailer. I think I saved it to flash drive somewhere. Two questions 1) Can you find the file? 2) Would you be willing to FTP it to me (if it's bigger than Gmail can handle)? |

I can understand why they would do it. When I watched DKR over the weekend, some people were really jumpy over the movie noisies. |

| ourbigdumbmouth I can't believe people aren't approaching this logically... |

| FreakinB Meh, it's like The Strokes replacing New York City Cops on their about-to-be-released album after 9/11. It makes sense. |

When I saw that scene in the trailer, I thought it was bad timing to show that scene in front of Batman last weekend. To remove it from the movie entirely? Fark you. |

Just watched the trailer. 1: Meh. It's a period piece with gangsters and shiat, and not some lone asshole ginger-wannabe. 2: I have no idea what gibberish Sean Penn just said in opening few sentences of the trailer. I thought it was a foreign trailer until I discerned some English words. /meh |

| John Buck 41 Diogenes: Can we please establish some reasonable middle ground between "More guns would have prevented this!" and "Every citizen is going to require grief counseling because of this tragedy!"? Very well said, Diogenes. Moderation, citizens. All things in moderation. //saw the trailer for this before Dark Shadows. Looked pretty cool (though I don't recall the scene in question) |

They should go back and take out the movie theater scene from the re-make of The Blob, because it offends me. |

"Warner Brothers to remove scene from their upcoming film "Gangster Squad" where characters shoot into a movie theater from behind the screen " AND the Warner sister! |

And while we are at it the end of Fightclub should have been changed post 9/11. Why not, since they changed Sum of All Fears between the book and movie? They took out the muslim terrorists and replaced them with Nazis. Changing movies will change reality, right? We should just take out every death scene in every movie ever made while we're at it. Sure Silence of the Lambs would no longer make sense, but so what. We wouldn't want anyone to feel less uncomfortable the next time they are kidnapped by a serial killer. /I hate Sum of All Fears now. |

| fusillade762 scottydoesntknow: Wouldn't be the first time [4.bp.blogspot.com image 500x336] How are they supposed to arrest them way up there? |
||
| borg A couple of weeks after 9-11 I was in a large Islamic country and went to the cinema (Kate & Leopold I think) there was a scene with the WTC towers you hear a collective gasp in the audience when they first showed on screen. I seem to remember in the states that scene was removed. |

Why not just delay the release a few months so people have some time to calm down? Wouldn't be the first time a studio did that. Miramax delayed Gangs of New York for a year because they didn't want a movie associating New York with graphic violence coming out 2 months after 9/11. Warners, please. Whatever you do, don't let that Ronald McDonald-headed farknugget have an impact on how you do business. You're just giving that pipsqueak something to brag about. |

This does not go far enough. We need to do more!!! We need all scene with violence removed. I hope there is never another superhero movie because all they do is promote terrorists, vigilantes and doesn't spread the message that the cops are your friends and are there to protect you. And don't get me onto those who have CCW licenses and how they have passed a class to know all about carrying a firearm. I don't care if they have no felonies, they are carrying a gun and are not cops, legal or not, they are future killers and are going to kill, probably children, and Batman is at fault because clearly, those movies inspire wanna be super villains. We need no more toy guns or violent video games. I don't know about you, but when I was a kid, I found Tetris to be too violent. Those blocks just vaporize when you make a row of them. And it was from Russia during the cold war, those blocks were Russians, you were killing innocent children when you played Tetris. Monsters!!!! Okay, I got off my topic, but let's remove all violence from all media, it's the only way to be safe from future attacks. All video games, tv shows, even remove the farking Bible for it's sex and violence. Let's police the internet and remove all violence from it. We need a law that says if someone even says something violent we fine them $1,000 and use that money to research the technology to police everyone's thoughts. |

Are we forgetting that shooting from behind a theater screen was a central part of the plot to this film? |

Ergh. Can we just stop it with this reactionary bullshiat already? Yes, it was a tragedy but Jeebus Frist do we flip out as a country every time something like this happens. "Oh, let's not post the box office receipts for the weekend as a show of support." What? What the fark? Who would have thought Warner Brothers was being insensitive by just reporting some farking numbers? What does one have to do with the other? Some people didn't even want to give the movie a review because they thought it would be inappropriate. And now this. Removing a scene from a movie isn't going to make the shooting not happen. All you're doing is giving the schizo who did it an ego boost. Fark! I feel like the only sane person in a land of loonies. /My guess is most people just do it for show anyway. "LOOK HOW CONCERNED I AM!!!" |
