OK, that's it, 3D printing has jumped the shark. Can we stop these ridiculous stories now?

It's bad enough we have to put up with those pictures of the 3d ultrasound. Now a figurine along with it? Sorry mommies but all of your infants look like Han Solo frozen in carbonite. Adorable!

Isn't the uterus the original 3D printer?

OH OH OH.

OH.

fark yeah, I got it.

New law; before any women gets an abortion, she has to hold a 3D printed model of her fetus at it's current stage of development.

I'm starting to think that we need a Japan tag, less for strange news and more for strange stuff.

To The Escape Zeppelin!: Why?

Because sometimes you want a deadbabyquarium for your piano AND a baby.

Pretty soon you'll be able to get a speed-cloned fully adult version of your unborn fetus.

I noticed that neither of those pictures had the thing turned with it's face towards the camera so we could witness the freaky alien-like qualities in regular 3d pics...

I've always thought those 3d pictures were very disturbing... but then had the ultrasound tech switch it over to 3d without asking during one of my ultrasounds with my twins and got a really cool picture of my daughter. I am aware that it was just as freaky as all the other pictures like it... but it was mine, so it was adorable and heart moving...

Pregnancy hormones are weird, weird shiat, man.

Some people just aren't patient enough to wait a few months for the fully articulated model with genuine sound effects?

I just want to know how they clean up the 3d file. I remember with both of my kids having the 3d picture shot and each and every time some part of the face or body was lost because the sono could not decern between those parts and the uterus or placenta.

TFA says it's done via MRI, not 3D-sonogram

Since this is Japan, I'm pretty sure the fetus will be able to ooze out of the perspex cube, crawl toward you on backwards bending joints, and strangle you to death with its absurdly long and dripping wet hair
