Eh. I hope it is real. I would like to check it out. Liked him as an actor and was sad when he kicked it even though I was a wee lad. Stand By Me is one of my top films and influenced me much during my influential youth. / I was compared lookswise to him often when I was younger. It gets a bit weird being compared to the dead. |

He delivered on of the best movie insults of all time in Stand By Me, to Kiefer Sutherland's bully: "Why don't you go home and fark your mother some more?" |

Is he still dead? Is it just me or do others get the weird sensation that after a certain period of time dead celebs should just "come back." For example, I find myself every 5 years or so on IMDB looking up the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers just to see if the first Yellow Ranger is still dead or not... She's always dead of course, but part of my brain keeps being disappointed that she's not back.... Or John Candy...I keep thinking he's going to be releasing a trailor for a new buddy movie starring him and Paul Rudd in a crazy detective story... Disappointing. |

assjuice: Soundtrack by Aleka's Attic I see what you did there... his old band. CSB time: played a gig with a acquaintance of mine and he and River and his band came by our soundcheck. So we hung out for a bit after sound check before his show, his show was at another venue. Nice guy, but probably into the drugs already. Went to see his band another time when they came through. It was a shame he died not a year later. |

Some interesting facts: The director, George Sluizer, is terminally ill and expected to die soon. He had to hire thiefs to steal the original tapes from some insurance company that eventually got possession of the tapes and were about to destroy them. |

GUATAPOPO: Wait didn't this guy die a long time ago? Christina Applegate was with him the night of his death. |

I recently watched "The Thing Called Love", which came out a few months before he died. The movie wasn't bad, but Phoenix's drug habit was clearly out of hand. He looked and acted like he was out of it. |

FTA: In the film, River Phoenix plays Boy, a young widower living on a nuclear testing site in the desert. While he waits for the end of the world, Boy carves Katchina dolls that supposedly contain magical powers. His life is disrupted when a Hollywood jet-set couple travelling across the desert become stranded after their car breaks down. Boy rescues the couple and then takes them prisoner. Jesus, that sounds farking awful. |
