What if I just want meth? Not quite to the point of need yet. Who do I call?!?!!

I tried calling, but I was told there would be no meth.

The man had what appeared to be a gun on his lap. The officer said he later realized it was a glass pipe, and the officer thought he used it to smoke meth during their conversation.

"I gave the pre-arranged good buy signal and drove the opposite way of (the suspect). I watched in my rear view mirror as the Arrest Team moved in and took (him) into custody without incident."

Police received a search warrant for his Cavalier and seized suspected marijuana, a pill bottle with one pill, the glass pipe shaped like a gun and the suspect's cell phone.

wow there is a lot of soft language here. Apparently the detective is psychic and a bad one at that. He determined that the suspect was going to sell him meth, even though none was found in the car. He thought he was smoking meth on the phone (you may be able to determine someone is smoking on the phone, but how do you determine WHAT they are smoking?). Also, they really want to emphasize that the pipe looked like a gun. Lastly, cops think anything is suspected marijuana.

Sounds like the suspect really was going to rob the detective since he had no drugs to trade and really wanted the detective to get in the car.

Too bad cops don't seem to know how real drug deals are set-up. Arrange a location (got that right). You show the money, the dealer shows the drugs, then you make the exchange. If either party balks when it comes time to show money or drugs, walk away.

Print and post a sign that states "if you need meth call this number"
Take down your own sign as evidence

Thing is, dude, even IF somebody would do this, the meth dealer would still have to answer the phone and AGREE TO A METH DEAL in order to have anything to go on. If somebody prints up some random asshole's phone number on a sign like that, unless random asshole actually agrees to sell meth/other drugs to a caller, no crime has been committed. Heck, most innocent people, if called by a random asshole who asks to purchase drugs, will generally respond along the lines of "Drugs? I don't sell drugs... you have the wrong number." It would end there.

Street drug deals are the problem. What ever happened to the good old days of knowing your dealer, playing with his dog when you went over, meeting new people with whom you shared at least one common interest?

AFAIK buying isn't a crime, only possessing and selling. So having a bunch of people call that need some (i.e.don't have any) would be a waste of time.
