| tallguywithglasseson Just ask...the Romney campaign, which referred to the TPC's work as "objective, third-party analysis" during the primary. Oops. I read a Fox News story calling the Tax Policy Center "left-leaning". Then again, they're covering this story as "Obama escalates personal attacks on Romney". |
||
| Lando Lincoln 2) The reason Romney's plan doesn't work is very simple. The size of the tax cut he's proposing for the rich is larger than all of the tax expenditures that go to the rich put together. As such, it is mathematically impossible for him to keep his promise to make sure the top one percent keeps paying the same or more. The fact that he's proposing ANY MORE TAX CUTS TO RICH PEOPLE is abhorrent. And at least 40% of America will vote for Romney anyway. Amazing. |
||
| Marcus Aurelius There can never be enough tax cuts for the wealthy. And speaking of wealthy, how do I get a $100,000,000 IRA like Mitt's? |
||
| Quasar Lando Lincoln: And at least 40% of America will vote for Romney anyway. Amazing. Nate Silver predicts close to 50%. |

Holy crap there wouldn't be a penny left in circulation by the end of his 1st term. ALL the money would be syphoned into the bank accounts of the richest Americans -- including himself -- and the rest of us will be surviving off the land in a cashless society. |
||
| Dusk-You-n-Me 9) Dynamic scoring of the sort many Republicans think they want is impossible, and probably wouldn't return the results they hope.

To be fair, this is pretty much what he's on the platform for. Entirely. That's what he's supposed to do, and he will deliver if he's put into office. That being said: we cannot afford a Romney Presidency. Our grandkids can't afford a Romney Presidency... |

Remember, everybody, the fact that Mitt Romney's tax plan cannot cut tax rates by 20%, be revenue-neutral, and be as progressive as the current tax code all at once is not a bug. It is a feature. |

Most of those 40% are not gonna vote for Romney, they're gonna vote against Obama. There is a difference. |

This is why Romney can't say anything of substance about what he wants to do as President. Because you people will go all criticism on him for it. You're just waiting for him to say something of substance so you can ponce on it. |

| Dusk-You-n-Me Nobody - no economist, no analyst, no think tank - has been able to make Romney's tax math work. At least, not without adding heaping quantities of Magic Romney Growth Elixir™ to the formula, and a lot of hand waving. Romney's big claim is that he can cut everyone's taxes by 20 percent, without adding a penny to the deficit, and without reclaiming the lost revenue from the pockets of lower and middle class workers. Even under generous assumptions, this is likely impossible. Link |

3) This is going to be a huge problem for the Romney campaign. No it's not. They'll just deal with it the same way they dealt with all of their other baggage: just stop talking about it and hope people forget. And you know what? People forget. |

Maud Dib: Best part....#5. Rmoney was for the Tax Policy Center before he was agin' 'em. I keep waiting for the Dems to release the flip-flop ad that is just Romney being on both sides of every issue in his own words. That shiat should be playing on loop 24/7. Like a 30 second slick version of this |

I'd love to see the results of the CBO getting their hands on this. |

You're just going to have to trust Romney on this. His tax plan will work for everyone. You will love it compared to what you have now under Obama. Remember last election when McCain said he'd tell us where to find Bin laden after the election? Well he called up Obama and told him, sure Obama took the credit, but... I'm not sure where I'm going with this. |

They'll just deal with it the same way they dealt with all of their other baggage: just stop talking about it and hope people forget. And you know what? People forget. Plus people are stupid. They are think they will be millionaires to take advantage of these tax breaks or their employer will bestow upon them some the riches they get in tax breaks. |

Romney has a campaign slogan: Show me the money. And when he gets the money he spends the money to confuse and obfuscate his stand of the minute to attempt to win the election for the 1%. Not part of the 1%: Voting for Romoney will not help you. |

This is what happens when the republican keystone is, TAX CUTS, TAX CUTS and MORE TAX CUTS. but support the troops (we really mean defense contractors) we will cut Social Security (not really worry not old people) Oh and scary scary Iran (third times the charm) |

Like a 30 second slick version of this I would hope they are saving it for later. When people won`t forget before the election and it can have more of an impact. I can just see it being played constantly around the debates. |
